  • Description

    Description

We are a completely non-profit reforestation and land rehabilitation project, located in the foothills of the magical mountains of Monchique, Algarve.

Through the concept of work as meditation (karma yoga) we are creating a space for people to connect, learn and grow. You are welcome to collaborate with our reforestation project

Our host and main teacher is a land of 21 hectares in total. Once an arid and almost deserted place due to successive decades of disrespectful forest practices and several very destructive fire processes, the dream of an emerging forest is now becoming real, an immense biodiversity reserve of both plants and animals and a space of abundance for us all.
Following the massive destruction of the 2016 Monchique fire, reforestation has been our utmost commitment: the hills were landscaped to prevent erosion and to increase water retention. Five large lakes were added to the existing ones and over 13.500 new trees of more than 100 different species have been planted. Biodynamic agriculture and Permaculture principles are an integral part of our land project, understood as a symbiotic relation with nature in which we interact in order to increase biodiversity and accelerate the soil recovery process, but also for us to observe, respect and simply learn from her teachings.

    What else ...

We emphasize the importance of a commitment and service to the project's development, as an offering to the Earth. A devoted yet relaxed vibe, with respect for all team members and the land we live on.

As our grey water is recycled and used to water our trees, please only use eco products, for showering, toothpaste, sunblock, body lotion etc.

We are located 20 minutes (by car) from the amazing Algarve beaches and 25 minutes from the Monchique mountains. It is a beautiful place, and while it feels very remote, we are actually only 20 minutes from the cities of Portimao and Monchique. There is a public bus service that stops right outside our front gate.
