Description
Come and experience life on a working cattle, seed and hay property. Our farm runs approximately 400 head of cattle at our home farm on 740 Ha set in a beautiful valley. Around the property, you can be part of tasks such as mustering, stock work in the cattle yards, fencing, hay and seed production and machinery and vehicle maintenance. We rely on 4WD motor bikes and tractors for many tasks and will take the time to train you how to use these safely. Apart from help around our farm, we also look for assistance in our garden and vegetable garden as well as odd jobs in and around the house. Farm life and work is seasonal, so we hope you will be open to trying your hand at whatever is happening at the time.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Come and learn about life on an Australian farm. We are patient with people who are building language skills and love to learn about other people’s language and culture. It’s hard to travel when you run a farm, so we see Workaway as a way of bringing the world to our doorstep.

We are a friendly family of three and enjoy sharing our home with visitors, especially at meal times. A separate and spacious guest area with ensuite, air-conditioning/heating and large flat screen TV is yours to relax in after work. Wireless internet access is available. There is a swimming pool for hot summer days. Unfortunately mobile coverage is limited.
Our nearest town, Gympie, is half an hour away. Travellers can get to Gympie by bus or train from Brisbane or from the north. We go to town several times a week and are happy to pick up and drop off travellers who do not have their own transport and to take them with us wherever we go.
We are on the doorstep of the beautiful Sunshine Coast, with Noosa only an hour away. An hour in the opposite direction is the jumping off point for Fraser Island.
Singles, pairs or couples are welcome. As farm work is so varied we recommend a minimum two week stay so that visitors can gain a variety of experiences. Longer stays are possible if there is enough work and everyone is getting along well enough. We like to meet people before making a firm commitment to longer stays.
No skills or previous experience are necessary, just enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new.
While we work with safety in mind at all times and take care to offer appropriate training, we would recommend you have travel insurance.Languages
