Description
We live on a beautiful peaceful small farm just 25 minutes from the centre of Canberra, Australia's capital city. We have an abundance of flora and fauna on the property, both natural and in man made gardens, orchards, ponds, dam etc. Wildlife are important for us now and in the future. On the property are lots of birds, kangaroos, water dragons, frogs, lizards, echidna. We also have some regular farm animals too. Springtime has an abundance of wildflowers on the property as well as in nearby reserves.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Being so close to Canberra the capital of Australia has a lot to offer i.e. musuems, art galleries, parliament house, cafes, restaurants. We also love our environment and happy to share in what we are doing to maintain our land for wildlife, as well as how we are growing our orchards and gardens as well as our lives in line with permaculture principles. We have done a bit of travelling, enjoy adventures and enjoy meeting new people.
Help
We are looking for easy going people. We both work in the health field and love to travel. We really value people who are interested in a permaculture lifestyle and willing to help us with tasks around our farm, house and garden to maintain the property and grow the food we eat. Likely tasks to include (at all times of the year): gardening; fertilising (natural), mulching, weeding, pruning and propagating tree / shrubs, cooking and other assorted jobs. Happy to negotiate help based on your interests.

Accommodation
We have very comfortable bedrooms (one with a queensize bed and one with two single beds in) with own bathroom for guests. The house is also full of relaxing spaces inside and out to take in the peaceful views. We also have space for a campervan/caravan with access to power.
Wifi is available and generally works fine for us to work from home.
If you would like to take in all the capital city of Australia has to offer as well as the bush walks, and the coast only 1.5 hours away, you will need your own transport.
In return for two hours of help each day we will provide accommodation, access to free internet, while you self-cater, or four hours a day Monday to Friday for vegetarian meals as well. The sense of humour and sharing of stories and experiences is free! What else ...
Please note there is no public transport and there are no bus routes where we are. Own transport would be very helpful for whoever stays here. We are happy to pick up or to drop off at the nearest town or nearby bus stops in Canberra on the way to work and bring home after work if needed.
