We are a South African family living in Grenada, West Indies! My sister, Zanne & I have a local business, which specializes in custom Marine Upholstery.
My daughter Grace (12) is home schooled after attending public school last year.
We also run an bnb & love to welcome visitors to the wonderful island of Grenada.

The Benji Bay community are from all over the world! New Zealand, Canada, Italy, Japan, Cuba, South Africa, Britian, USA & more!
We are also valued members of the Parish of Woburn, St George's. Although our home and immediate community is mainly international, there is a rich local culture all over Grenada. The locals are friendly, helpful and always enjoy showing new - comers their beautiful country.
There are many island tours available out to waterfalls, rum factories, chocolate estates and along the coast to snorkel etc. There are many activities to enjoy in your free time and public transport is available.
Every Saturday evening, we meet for a dock party, on our private jetty...bring food & wine & catch up on the weeks' happenings!
We are keen to teach Sailmaking & Marine Upholstery.
Learning a bit of Spanish would be much appreciated:)Projects involving children

Help
Primarily, we are looking for a tutor for Grace. Someone to supervise homeschooling & cook a basic meal once or twice a week.
We run 'sewing for sailors' training courses, which our volunteers are welcome to attend in exchange for helping with the set-up.
These are usually one every few months and held on a Saturday morning.
We will also need a little help in the loft from time to time. This may include helping cut some fabric, rearrange and organize shelves, ride along on call outs to measure for cushions etc.
Marine Canvas and Upholstery is a thriving industry here and we get to meet people cruising from all over the world.
If you are someone who enjoys working with their hands and has an interest in sailing / marine industry, this will be a very enjoyable part of your experience (and a great skill to learn).
I am an avid sailor & sailmaker, Zanne is training to practice Ayurvedic medicine & massage.
Grace loves to catch fish & eat ice-cream!
Our volunteers are welcome to join us on any of our adventures!!Languages
