  • Description

Come and join us on the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island. We love animals and have lots of them including dogs, cats, goats, bunnies, chickens, pigs, ducks and horses and a sheep.

The farm was built in 1885 and comprised of 600 acres around Sidney in North Saanich. It is now 9 acres and all the livestock is for pleasure rather than production! We have a large garden with fruit trees and vegetables.

We enjoy working with wood, from milling and processing, to building and finishing.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange should benefit both parties and although we have a European based culture workawayers can learn about the way Canadians and particularly Vancouver Islanders look at the world. Not only do the host and traveller benefit but there is much exchange, comparison and learning between travellers.

  • Help

The help includes general building maintenance, gardening and animal care. Daily animal chores are feeding, stall/housing cleaning, or walking the dogs. We also have a wood mill so an interest in the production of lumber and wood products would be beneficial.

The farm is 25 mins (walking) from Sidney and a little closer to bus routes to Victoria. We also offer bikes to use.
The Swartz Bay ferry terminal and airport are close as well (5 mins). Depending on your arrival time, we are happy to pick you up.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you. Send us a message if you have any further questions about the farm.
