Hola a todos!
We are a Spanish language school in Costa Rica. Our aim is to teach, immerse, and initiate a global understanding of Costa Rican culture. We offer intensive Spanish language classes as well as a Homestay program where students live in the homes with local families and share two meals a day with them. Additional programs include Latin dance classes, yoga, adventure tours, cultural tours, and free conversational programs with local English students.

We are all about cultural exchange! You're going to be interacting with a lot of local Costa Ricans on a very personal level. The school is constantly interacting with the community and is always trying to involve itself more.
After two weeks of volunteering, Spanish classes will be offered to volunteers whom are interested at no fee.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We need help connecting to new students from around the world!
2021 - August
• We need help with our Teen camp! In August (1st to the 21st) we will be running our 3rd camp of the summer. Your main role would be to help with all of our afternoon activities (chaperoning the campers, ensuring safety and wellbeing) and general help at the school. Experience with teenagers or youth programs is a plus, and a fun-loving and positive attitude is essential! Message us with any questions :)
2021 - August, Sept, Oct.
• We really need a marketing specialist.
We're bouncing back from the covid situation and have many students at the school experiencing Costa Rican culture through Spanish, cooking, and dance classes! :) But we're really behind on capturing those experiences visually and need help with daily posts to social media.
On a more professional level, we are looking for someone who can create email marketing and social media campaigns and can track data from those campaigns. Our Program Director has significant experience in Google Analytics and Facebook Marketing but is often too busy to design a proper campaign and make tweaks to it where necessary. We know there are digital nomads out there that know this digital marketing world in and out! Please help us! :)
A background in SEO and/or Google Adwords is a huge plus. Facebook/instagram marketing a huger plus.
Really, if you are a social media fan, we're open to meeting you and hearing more about your experience in the area.
• We need a content writer / journalist.
We are looking for someone who can run and manage their own content creation projects that include but aren't limited to; blog writing, article writing, website copy review and creation, and be able to discuss ideas with our program director and possibly lead other volunteers in other writing projects. Having your own camera is a plus! You will be relying on good photography to pair with writing projects.

We teach Spanish!
We have a separate room on site at the school with a full size bed, a desk, and some basic closet space. You'll have your own private bathroom that has a standing shower, toilet, and sink. Likewise, you'll have access to a full service kitchen at the school.
In the case of very qualified volunteers looking to stay for 2-6 months, we can discuss the option of housing volunteers in a local homestay where two meals a day will be provided.
We are located in the heart of Costa Rica in a city called Heredia. The city alone is home to three Universities which give fuel to a lively night life complete with many bars and restaurants. Within a 30 miles radius of the school, there are 3 volcanos and 4 national parks. The Pacific Ocean is only a 2-hour bus ride away giving way to incredible tropical beaches, rain forests, animal life, etc.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
At the school, volunteers typically get a 25gb download / 5gb upload internet speed over wifi. Sometimes a bit quicker, sometimes a bit slower. Your bedroom will have a desk and access to the internet. Likewise, we have outdoor spaces available to volunteers if they prefer to work outside. We have free coffee always available and a small library and large classrooms where they could also work.
