Description
Join us on our cherry & peach orchard in Kelowna!
We are a Portuguese-Japanese couple living on a cherry and peach farm in Southeast Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Our orchard is surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, golf courses, hiking trails and mountain views, offering a blend of peaceful countryside living with easy access to everything Kelowna has to offer. We’re looking for individuals or couples to help with fruit picking, gardening, yard work and general farm tasks mainly during July and August.
A bit about us:
My wife and I lived abroad in Japan and Germany for 8 years before settling down in Kelowna to raise our family. We have been here for the past 20+ years. This year, the extra responsibilities of managing our orchard have become a bit overwhelming, and we would really appreciate a couple helping hands during the busy months. We’ve always enjoyed cultural exchange, having hosted many homestay students over the years. We do have a pet cat but he lives outdoors because my wife is sensitive to pet hair. We would love for you to join us for shared meals on our patio, playing card games, bonfires and listening to live music downtown.
You'll have a private room with a shared bathroom and access to a small separate kitchen. Meals are provided everyday during your stay!
Some other benefits include:
🌿 Experiencing orchard living within a 15 minute drive from;
- Downtown Kelowna (shops, restaurants)
- Hiking & biking trails (Myra Canyon, Mission Creek)
- Wineries & golf courses
- Okanagan Lake (beaches and water sports)
🍒 Fresh fruits & veggies from our farm
🚲 We can lend you some bikes
🚍 There is a bus stop very close by (running around 6 time per day)
