Welcome to a Relaxed Farm Stay on Beautiful Vancouver Island
    Hello!
We are Peter and Anette at a farm located near Port Alberni on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Over the years our farm has changed quite a bit. We are now mostly retired, so this is no longer a busy working farm. Instead, we enjoy a quieter lifestyle while still caring for a few animals, maintaining a large vegetable garden, and keeping the property looking beautiful.
We are looking for help during August
If you're travelling through Vancouver Island and would enjoy spending time in nature while helping out a few hours each day, we'd love to hear from you.
    Typical projects may include:
    • General gardening and weeding
    • Watering and harvesting vegetables
    • Feeding and caring for our rabbits and chickens
    • Helping with our friendly cats and dog
    • Light property maintenance
    • Small DIY or woodworking projects (if you enjoy building)
    • Trail clearing and improvement at our oceanfront property
    • Other seasonal outdoor jobs depending on the weather
There is always a variety of work, so no two days are exactly the same.
    What we're looking for
We're looking for friendly, reliable people who enjoy country living and don't mind getting their hands dirty. Previous farm experience is helpful but not essential. A positive attitude, common sense, and willingness to help are much more important.
    What you'll experience
Our property offers a peaceful rural lifestyle surrounded by forests, lakes, rivers, and the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island. In your free time you can enjoy hiking, swimming, wildlife, photography, kayaking, or simply relaxing in nature.
Peter is always working on interesting little projects around the property, so if you enjoy learning practical skills, building things, or helping create something new, you'll probably have fun here.
    What we offer
We provide a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere where you'll be treated as part of the household. You'll have your own private Tiny House to stay in, giving you your own space to relax after the day's activities. The guest bathroom and toilet are located in our house, just a few steps from the Tiny House.
We enjoy meeting travellers from around the world, exchanging stories, learning about different cultures, and sharing life on beautiful Vancouver Island. We believe the best part of Workaway is the friendships and cultural exchange that come from living and working together.
If you're looking for a quiet, authentic Canadian farm experience rather than a large commercial operation, the farm may be just the place for you.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing our little corner of Vancouver Island this August!
