  • Description

    Description

Our house is situated 15 minutes from Melk, at the southern beginning of beautiful Wachau Valley - a region famous for its stunning Danube river landscape, steep terraced vineyards, delicious apricots and charming historic towns.
In 2024 we moved here as a family of 6 - my husband, myself, our 3-year old twin daughters and my in-laws.
We love our big house, garden, forest and fields, were we have a small flock of sheep mowing our meadows. My father-in-law breeds chickens.
With our next projects - like creating a garden for the kids, building raised beds, clearing land - we love to host you as a helping hand.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are excited to welcome people from all over the world and learn about different cultures, since we have little time to travel by ourselves. You can join us on our weekend adventures - like cycling along the Danube, exploring the area or visiting museums, abbeys and castles. If you are into cooking, we can share recipies and cook together (I love to bake and cook ;)) skills to learn including to drive a mini-tractor ;)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will stay in your own little apartment within our house. In the apartment you'll have everything you need - a bedroom, small kitchen, en-suite bathroom, books ;)
The apartment is clean, bright and quiet.
Since the apartment has a kitchen, we will provide essential groceries (you just tell us, what you need) for you to make your own breakfast and dinner.
For lunch we cook everyday from scratch with fresh, mostly organic ingredients and will provide for you as well. We love to cook things like stews, dumplings, lasagne, pasta, colorful salads, oven-roasted vegetables, little bit of fish, sometimes meat, mostly vegetarien meals. You can enjoy your lunch in your apartment, outside or with us, if our kids are ok with it...I guess we have to get to know each other a little bit first :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are many ways to explore the area called Wachau Valley, including cycling along the Danube, hiking the World Heritage Trail (start from our house), eating and drinking in wine taverns (Heurigen), touring baroque monasteries or taking a boat trip on the Danube.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes away from our house. The bus will take you in the direction of Melk or Krems. We can provide a bike for you for the duration of your stay.

We are a non-smoking house and would prefer to host someone not smoking. You are responsible for cleaning and tidying your apartment for the duration of your stay and handle facilites and furnishings with care.
Since we have small children, we would love to host someone, who shares our beliefs of meeting others with respect and kindness. We try every day to exemplify a life filled with love and respect for each other. If something bothers us, we will communicate it in a clear but kind way and would invite you to do the same.
