    Description

IMPORTANT: We are a working farm, requiring at least 8 weeks of commitment, working 4-5 hours per day, five days per week.

Come be a part of a non-profit animal sanctuary, providing care to over 100 farmed animal rescues. Our mission is to offer a safe haven to neglected, abandoned, unwanted and older animals in need. All this is run by mostly one person who needs a ton of help :)

We want to provide an experience that meets everyone's expectations and want all volunteers to feel at home and a part of the amazing environment that is the sanctuary.

There is a major need for hard-working individuals interested in helping with the care of the rescues in the sanctuary. Additionally, help is needed with tours on the weekend if you love leading and connecting with people whilst showing them around the sanctuary. We also have an annual event every September that we need help organizing. We are hosting a fundraiser on the property. There will be live music, vendors, local food trucks and activities. Help is needed with organizing, painting, designing and contacting people for the event. In the summer and spring months, we also need help gardening and planting.

Long-term goals include: building small cabins in the woods for farm stays. Potentially building a sugar shack (most of our trees can be harvested for maple syrup), hosting events on the property (open to suggestions), and growing our social media presence.

We want to collaborate with YOU, to make this place even more special and be able to reach many more individuals. If you’re creative, love animals, or want to work hard to help with our mission, I can’t wait to speak to you!

There’s definitely no lack of options for what you can do.

I do want to note that this is a vegan household and sanctuary. We ask that no animal products are brought into the house. This includes eggs, meat, fish, milk products, and honey. You are free to go to restaurants in town and eat anything you wish outside of the property.

If the above piques your interest, I’m really looking forward to connecting with you :)

Volunteers get free accommodations in our home, including plant-based meals. You will have a shared room that has two bunk beds and sleeps up to 4 people and a shared hallway bathroom. Linens are provided. Please bring your own towels.

Unfortunately, no animals traveling with you are allowed on the farm. There is absolutely no smoking allowed anywhere on the property.

We live in a beautiful area known as Trent Hills, with lots of cultural attractions and natural wonders. There are hiking and biking trails, a music barn theatre featuring local artists, a movie theatre, lots of antique shops, a suspension bridge and Toronto is only 2 hours' drive from the farm. Please note, we are in a pretty remote rural area. You would be responsible for finding transportation to and from the farm.
