Hello, we are looking for volunteers to make our lodge an even more unique place. We are surrounded by amazon forest with jaguar, spectacled bear, tapir, 5 species of monkey and about 500 species of birds.
The lodge is complete off grid. We runs on solar panels and we do have (satellite) internet.

The place is amazing in the middle of prime forest. You will see lots of animals, learn a lot about life in the Amazonian jungle. Soon you will recognize the sounds.
You will also learn how it is to live in the forest and how it is to run an ecolodge in the jungle.
The lodge is well-known among birdwatchers and photographers.
The reserve exists for 4 years and the major works have been completed. But many improvements are still needed (mainly the paths around the house) and a lot of maintenance help would be welcome (the trails).
There is plenty to do in the reserve and when there are no tourists, you can basically choose what you prefer to do. For safety reasons we do not want you to do risky things, such as using machetes or chainsaw.
Examples:
*️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️ the garden requires a lot of help.
*️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️ you can help our caretaker with small projects.
*️️️️️️️️️️️️ ️ you can help the visitors with guiding them, explaining the (safety) rules, etc ..
Maybe you come up with an idea for improvement.
You do not have to be an experienced volunteer, but willing to help us. Unexperienced volunteers have to stay minimum 1 month. Experienced volunteers can stay 3 weeks. It takes a lot of effort to explain how the lodge works. Also it is better for you as you will quickly be independently and make your own planning.
We are limited to max. two Workawayers when there are tourists. Sometimes, when less tourists come, we accept more volunteers for completing big projects.
Check our calendar on the website (green = 2 places available, yellow = 1 place available, red = no place available).
If you come between May and October, you should be able to speak a bit of Spanish.
There are no costs involved for you. You pay only for beers/ soft drinks and the horse in case you want your luggage to be brought up (50.000 COP).

You will stay in a room with 2 beds (see pictures) and you will have it most of the time for yourself or with another Workawayer.
Pets are not allowed (as in most reserves).
Because we are already located in the foothills, it is not hot (never airco required) and there are no diseases, such as yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya, zika or malaria.
The food we prepare is delicious (mainly Asian food with Colombian ingredients). We are a lodge for tourists. So we are not strict vegetarian, but we often serve complete vegetarian meals. We try to limit the use of - especially red - meat, as beef is one of the main reasons for deforestation in Colombia.
There is a extensive network of trails (25 km) around the lodge, with various swimming holes and look-outs.
Apart from that we have 3 canopy towers (even with accommodation).
Also there are forest walks possible (with guides) to other swimming holes and waterfalls.
The lodge is located at 1,5 hour driving + 1,5 hours walking from Puerto Asís. Your luggage can be brought to the lodge on horseback.
