Hello,
We are a family of five plus dog living in one of the most beautiful holiday destination towns in Ireland. We have 3 children - two girls aged 13 & 11 and one boy aged 8 years. We recently moved back from living in Costa Rica for two years hence most of our photos show us enjoying the Caribbean. The kids are interested in all types of sports (rugby, soccer, gaa, swimming etc etc) building camps, selling homemade lemonade, making art, playing music and love anything to do with water sports. I manage some long and short term rentals so kept busy with that, gardens, general maintenance and running a household. Ger my husband works in Market Research and has just started an MBA in Circular Economy.
We live in the beautiful town of Kinsale which is located at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and is famous for its colourful streets, rich history, and fun things to do. It is very close to the Airport and Cork City and there is a local bus service on a regular basis throughout the day. Our house is like a bus station so you will get to meet lots of people. We are located within a short walk to the town center and inner harbour. Kinsale has a great network of au pairs and other workaway's so it can be easy to meet other people.
We have had some fabulous workaways stay with us and both us and the kids have always enjoyed the experience.

Kinsale is a magical place - at the start of the entry to West Cork, on the Wild Atlantic Way, Cork city is an hours drive away (by bus) and the bus runs every hour from Kinsale to Cork. It's a 3 hour drive to Dublin also, so not so far if you want to see our capital city. People surf, sea swim, golf, hike, relax here on holidays all the time. We are lucky to live in a place where most people come to holiday!
There are guided Historical Tours in the Town where you will be able to learn about the History of Kinsale and the surrounding area. There are Traditional Irish musicians in Pubs and varied Courses, activities and events. There are opportunities for sailing, water sports, horse riding, Yoga, Pilates, alternative therapies and much more.
Charles Fort and James Fort are both popular interesting Historical places nearby to visit
There is a very active au-pair and workaway community in Kinsale which can easily be found on Whatsapp and Facebook.
You will have loads of time to explore this beautiful part of Ireland.
Au Pair Help
This host has let us know they’ll be complying with Irish regulations for au pair stays.here
We would welcome someone during the months of June, July and August to help with daily chores, cooking, garden and a fondness of playing with kids. Basically another pair of hands to help out. I do have a cleaner once a week which helps a little.
We also love to try different food so being able to cook would be a great advantage but not essential 😃
Your accommodation would be in a double room within our house with spectacular views overlooking Kinsale harbour.

Accommodation
Our house was a dream build which we completed in 2017. We enjoy breath-taking views overlooking Kinsale town and outer harbour. We are a short walk in one direction to Kinsale town and all it has to offer and in the opposite direction is Summercove Village with it's famous Bulman Pub, Sauna and beach, historical Charles Fort and coastal walks.
Accommodation is offered in the downstairs study which has a double futon with mattress topper. Shared main bathroom but we have an en-suite which the kids mostly use. All other areas are shared within the house.
What else ...
I spent many years travelling all over the world so have huge experience travelling. We are outgoing and would love to share our space with someone like minded, interested in the world around them and curious to travel and see it. Kinsale is beautifully placed in Ireland, stunning location, amazing food, and great friendly people. I would like our Workawayer to be independent and happy to explore, meet new people and enjoy this beautiful area of ours.

Abby stayed with us for a month, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful guest. From the moment she arrived, she brought warmth, humour, and an easygoing nature that made her an absolute delight to have around.

Abby was happy to get stuck into whatever was going on, always lending a hand with a smile. Whether it was in the kitchen, around the house, or just part of daily life, she always saw what needed to be done.
We would have loved to have had longer with her and would welcome her back in a heartbeat. Abby is truly one of a kind, and we feel very lucky to have had her with us.
As with the others who have left feedback for this amazing family, I was welcomed with open arms by 3 sweet, well mannered, kind, curious and bright kids, (and their loving parents) and of course Mila the Vizla . All made me feel special and lucky to spend a whole month with them. I was eager to help in anyway that I could so i did some fun… read more cooking and a bit of weeding and dog walking. Our family had the pleasure of having Enza stay with us for most of August. Enza has a beautiful personality, is so positive and is a very relaxing person to have around. She has a vast amount of experience with children and I was very grateful to learn a few tips now and then ;-)
We had quite a few birthdays and gatherings when Enza was here and… read more she always got stuck right in. She is an amazingly talented artist and wowed all of the kids and their friends with spectacular face painting and balloon shaping. Although the weather wasn't great she got out there to expolore the sites and local area.
We really couldn't recommend Enza enough. Great with kids. A very interesting lady and a relaxed and mature person to have stay in your home.

I truly hope to see this wonderful family again one day and I am grateful for the time I spent with them! Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

I still think a lot about the wonderful time with this family, even though it was a few months ago. I felt like I had been a part of their great family for two weeks. Outside of this time I took nice walks along the sea or I met with some of the other au pairs. You have the opportunity to experience the beautiful nature in Ireland and spend time in the cozy cafes in Kinsale or you can go to Cork and visit the next larger city.
I will never forget the time and I would fly back anytime. Thank you for letting me a part of you family. It was a pleasure for me!

Danni recently stayed with us for 2 weeks and I can honestly say that she was one of the best Workaway's we've had. From the get go she was great fun with the kids, got stuck straight in with helping around the house, worked away on her own initiative, helped out in the garden and was great company to have around. Recently spent 2 weeks with this family and it was amazing! They are such a warm and loving family and I was instantly welcomed with open arms and not just by them but also their extended family and friends. I felt so comfortable and it really did feel like staying with friends. Their house and views are just incredible. I felt so lucky everyday… read more to be there. The kids (Rowan, Annaleise and Eli) are bundles of energy and will keep you on your toes but they are a lot of fun! I learnt a thing or two from them about myself. I enjoyed our walks into town, cooking together and playing games.
Felicity and Ger are such a wonderful couple and loving, fun parents. I really enjoyed my chats with them and appreciate all the help and advice they gave me.
I didn’t know what to expect for my first workaway experience with a family but I don’t think it could have been any better. I have even been back to visit since leaving and feel like I’ve gained some lifelong friends. :)

For real, you could write 30 pages about how incredible this family is. I feel so lucky to have spend these three weeks with Eli, Annaliese, Rowan, Felicity and Ger. Not to forget, of course, their big famkly and close friends coming from Kinsale but also from the other side of the Earth ! Each of them are different and really interessant… read more individuals. And funny, how funny. I mostly helped by tiding up a little bit, taking care of the little one (which is a 2yo funny guy, a little sun) and cooking vegeterian meals for dinner. None of that felt like work. Moreover, no way you would feel stuck in this house, the big windows make you feel like your always in the beautiful nature surrounding Kinsale, with the confort of a home. I spent most of my free time exploring the area and the multiples cafes, bookshops, and pubs at night. You find in this little town lots of foreign people and traditional irish music. A great mix ! And the family even welcomed my boyfriend for a few days and we had an amazing time, hanging, gardening, laughing. I would have been happy to stay for months here, eating the sunday's scones every weeks. Hope I will get the chance to meet them again. Thanks a lot !!

I just spent a month with Felicity and her amazing kids and I had the best time! The kids are hilarious and I loved playing with them. The family really made me feel welcome, and they taught me so much, even how to make bread! I really got to know the family and I really appreciate how welcome they made me feel.
The view from the house is… read more magical, and will certainly boost your instagram cred. It's also just a really calm and relaxing atmosphere. Kinsale is a cute little town, with cute little town quirks included. The au pair community is strong, and they meet every week, so you can meet new friends to take trips with.
This really was an amazing experience. Thank you to Felicity for the great wine and chat (and even for the dunk in the water), and thanks to Rowan, Annaliese, and Eli for making me laugh and getting songs stuck in my head! Miss you guys!
