We search for a girl so that our children can practice a foreign language. The girl should spend time and interact with them (play games, tell stories, talk, help and teach them to keep their playing room in order, dress them) and participate to our family life, together with our baby sitter.
A stay in our family would mean getting in touch with our Italian language and spend time in a young serene family environment, in a place admired in the whole world for its beauty and charm.

We are a five-person family: I (Luisa, 42), my ex husband (Alessandro, 50) and our three children (Luigi Paolo, 11 years - Stella, 10 years - Diego, 6 years). We also have a lovely cat.
We started the experience of hosting girls to give our children the opportunity to learn a foreign language naturally. We hosted the first girl in October 2018 and since then have always had girls with us. These experiences were fantastic for us. We developed intense friendships and each of the girls we hosted became part of our family for the period of stay and we are still in contact with all of them.
Alessandro and I are separated as a couple, but we continue to share the same house when he is not abroad for work.

We started this experience to give our children the opportunity to learn English. Currently the level of knowledge of the English language is good. It is essential for us to continue practicing the English language, but we are open to learning new languages too.
Accommodation
We live in a two floor apartment with terrace in Como, with a magnificent view on the lake. On the floor of the bedrooms of our house we have a room with a private bathroom that grants our host some privacy.
The center of Como, only 800 meter far, can be easily reached by foot, by bike or with the bus. The bus stop is just outside our door. Milan can be easily reached from the train station of Como.
There is also a mall at a stone throw, with supermarkets and many shops.
Our children attend a school that keeps them busy until the afternoon. On some days, they practice sports after leaving school.
Some of the tasks of the girl we host are: to help children to prepare breakfast, to get dressed to go to school, to welcome them back in the afternoon and to help us in the evening routines (bath time, to lay the table, to clear the table, and to go to bed), help with family and home routines. Moments of play with them are also very important.
However, we have a babysitter who takes care of the children when we are at work.
During the weekends, we like to spend time with the family. We sometimes go to the golf course or to the pool during the summer.
Many of the girls we have hosted so far have participated in our family activities on weekends or holidays. They sometimes preferred to be more independent and free.
We love to welcome the au pair so that she feels part of the family.
What else ...
We live by Lake Como, just 20 minutes walk from the centre and can be easily reached by foot, by bike or with the bus.
The bus stop is just outside our door.
Milan can be easily reached from the Como train station, in a 40-minute trip. And Switzerland is also not far.
There are many shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and tourist attractions nearby. Including Villa Ormo, Cable Car to Brunate, Duomo, pier to take ferries to Bellagio, Lecco, Lenno and more.
There are many nice nature walks in the surrounding area including walk up to Brunate mountain from the centre.
