    Description

I live in a small house with a garden, very close to the sea. The garden is always in need of some TLC. The village is at the Oosterschelde on one of the former islands in the SW of the Netherlands. I live with two small/mid size dogs.

As an experienced host, I love the interaction with volunteers from different countries and backgrounds - as long as we share a respect for the environment, animals and our fellow humans. The spare bedroom I have, has one double bed, so suitable for single volunteers or a couple. During the day, I work at home (as a translator).

I am a vegetarian (occasionally eating fish) and a non-smoker. Vegans welcome!
I do like a glass of wine or beer over dinner, but I am not in for heavy drinkers or smokers.

Due to the COVID-19-pandemic, I paused my profile for quite a while last year. Due to the travel restrictions, at the moment I can only receive people who are already in the Netherlands.

I used to live in Northern Spain but have now moved back to the Netherlands. So - no tons of foster dogs, mountains or donkeys any more (most of the feedback is still for my place in Northern Spain), but I am still the same person and I now live next to the sea.

There is not as much work to be done here as in Ceceda, but there is also lots of opportunities for long walks or cycle rides along the coast. We have endless fields and wide views of the sea. You can bring your own dog if sociable.

    PLANNING
This summer I already have a house and dog sitter for a month - from 25 June to 25 July, and I am sorted for June.
After that I am often away during the weekends, and my oldest doggie does not handle changes or being on a boat very well anymore (at 16 years old, she is allowed) so someone to take care for her at home at times would be great.

    What else ...

Walking and cycling, lots of different sea birds.
We have a small grocery store next door, but shopping malls are approx. 15 km away, so for city life this is not the right place.

Public transport: by bus to get to a city at 14 km with a railway station (Goes). Good connections anywhere from Goes.

I speak Spanish, English, Dutch and a little German.
