My time in the house was good. Barbara picked me up from the train station when I arrived and then went grocery shopping with me because I didn't have a rental car there. I really appreciated that. I would have liked more instruction and explanation when it came to house sitting, especially when it came to the topic of gardening. So that we watered the garden together once would have helped me maybe. I was very willing to take care of the garden properly and watered it as I felt good, which in the end was probably not enough. I'm very sorry about that too! The cats are very sweet and easy to care for and I enjoyed their company. The house is also equipped with everything you need. I would definitely recommend a car there. I would still like to thank you for the great time I had there 😊

Shion is a truly lovely person. Kind, helpful, and always cheerful. Thanks to her, we've created a very close-knit group with lots of fun, work, and deep, personal exchanges. I highly recommend her... also because she makes excellent suchi 😉🙏

Dione has been one of the most dedicated volunteers we have had recently. She worked closely with our marketing team, helping us create videos and even anchoring headshot interviews on different spiritual topics. Being a yoga teacher herself, she understood the rhythm of the ashram quickly and fitted right in. She was always diligent, reliable, and willing to help with other tasks in the ashram whenever needed. We never had any concerns with her commitment, it was an absolute pleasure to have her around. Dione carries a very positive energy, which was felt by both staff and guests. We would be delighted to welcome her back to the ashram anytime in the future. We had a wonderful time at our finca with this great and likeable couple. Time passed far too quickly and we wished it could have lasted longer. Violette and Kiko are an enrichment in many ways. They are likeable, open, have varied interests and a great love for nature and animals (our two cats miss them just as much as we do:-). Both are always highly motivated for any kind of Finca task and they are also very interested in learning and understanding ecological agriculture. Every task was carried out by Violette and Kiko with great care and much enthusiasm. We had a very fun and entertaining time. The two of them have many interesting and funny stories to share, and we had as many engaging conversations as great laughters. It is also a matter of course for Violetta and Kiko to keep the shared spaces clean and spotless. They not only enjoyed the finca, but also visited many other beautiful places on our wonderful island and shared our enthusiasm for them. Thank you very much Vili and Kiko for the fun and inspiring time and for your loving nature. It is a joy to share time with you and we (bi- and quadruped residents) really hope to see you again.

Harish stayed with us for three months as a volunteer and quickly became a valued part of our community. As a Sivananda TTC graduate, he could help us with morning asana classes in addition to helping with the daily tasks of the ashram. We found him to be very positive in his outlook. He got along well with both staff and guests, and we never saw him in conflict with anyone. He was lovely to have around, which added to the good atmosphere here. We would be very happy to host him again in the next season if he is free.

It was my first workaway experience and it was absolutely great! Gian Marco and Elena were really kind and helpfull, also we laughed a lot many times. They have experiences from their workaway stays, everything is very well done for the guest. The house and place is really beautiful. They were very flexible about the stay and work, so I could work a bit more one day and another I could explore one of the cities or anything else i wanted to do. The work is very diverse and it is really good to see how the things are doing. Also seeing them how they work around the house and farm with respect to nature and with passion was really motivating me. It was really great cultural exchange, because they shared a lot of things about their culture, history, language and about points of interest nearby, also they were really courious about my country. The food was very delicious and there was plenty of it. They gave me a lot of ideas for my everyday life. Thank you very much for the stay!

We stayed with Hadassah and Jack for one week in September 2025 and had a truly lovely experience. Their home was warm, welcoming, and they made us feel like part of their household from the moment we arrived. The work involved helping Hadassah in her beautiful garden — transferring mulch, digging up weed mats, pruning, and moving materials around. One of the highlights was when she took us out to explore the nearby native bush; her passion and knowledge about plants and gardening really stood out and made the experience even more special. Hadassah also prepared delicious meals for us everyday, which we really appreciated after a day’s work. We enjoyed spending time with both Hadassah and Jack over dinner. They’re very interesting people with very unique life experiences, and were very willing to share stories with us. Jack was really helpful when we had questions about our car, and he was very generous in sharing his tools with us so we could sort a few things out. We were really grateful for his support. We’d absolutely stay with them again if we’re ever back in the area. Thank you both for a memorable and meaningful week!

This was an absolutely fantastic first Workaway experience in New Zealand! Konny and her family are incredibly warm, generous hosts, and I would highly recommend them. ​I loved working in the garden with Konny, where I learned a lot about NZ plants, and enjoyed helping Stefan with building shelves. The work was balanced and the expectations were clear. ​A major highlight was the food—every meal was delicious! They also went out of their way to help me explore the local outdoors in my free time. Their sweet dogs and sheep were a bonus and made the farm feel so welcoming. ​Thank you, Konny and Stefan, for a truly memorable start to my travels!

I spent a month with the family - it was my first ever Workaway experience and I couldn’t have been luckier! They are some of the most welcoming people I have ever met. I immediately felt at home and had everything I needed. Lucia provided amazing Italian meals every day that I was there and all of my responsibilities were clearly explained. The kids are so much fun and all so intelligent - I had the best time playing games with them. The whole family was very patient and encouraging with me when speaking Italian, they have really helped me improve before going back to university. I really enjoyed my stay at the house! Work was definitely not too demanding, mostly cleaning and preparing things for the party. Cock and Roelien are very experienced hosts and were always straightforward what was needed. During my stay I was also able to see the nearby area (by bike or running with Cock) and the not so nearby area (by train), which was quite nice. I really enjoyed our shared meals and talks. Thank you!

This was my first experience as a Workawayer and I loved it! I spent an entire month with Christian and Anna and I don't know where to start...First of all I arrived when they were ill and even if they diddin't feel well they were so caring and patient while explaining to me the house rules and all. They are very nice people and were so attentive about my needs to make me feel comfortable. I had the pleasure to talk with both of them about any kind of topic : food, cultural differences, politics, emotions even personal stories. It was a really good connection that I didn't imagine could have happend and I am so grateful about that. Even tho they had to take care of their two energetic and funny girls they always tried to make me feel comfortable and heard, of course sometimes it was more difficult becuase kids are kids, but they tried really hard and I appreciated that so much. During my stay I helped them preparing the meals, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the kitchen, prepraring the pizza dough and even storing some dry herbs for tea. Christian taught me how to grind wood so that we could prepare some wood pieces for the balcony and I was also able to restore the garden wood stairs and the wood floor that they use for the barbecue. Christian was a good teacher and so patient in answering all my questions about how things worked and about the house restoration. I worked from monday to friday and in the weekends, with the bike that they gave me, I went to the train station (just 10 minutes away) to catch a train and visit a lot of beautiful cities. Anna and Christian always asked me with genuine interest where I would spend the weekends and gave me a lot of suggestions on what to see or to eat and when I got home they asked me what I liked about a city,if I was satisfied and if it had been fun. It was a great experience that I really recommend for the people that are doing their first time as workawayers or even for the ones that just want to spend a good time in a small town surrounded by nature and peace with a lovely family. I will cherish the memories with you guys, I wish you the best !🫶

Spent 6 days at Ruta and Gytis’. Most resourceful part of my trip so far. I felt really welcomed and at home ! Although we harvested the almost the whole garden in a few days, still had lots of time to go for long walks, tried to swim in the river (too cold for me in late September though haha), play with Pukis and just rest. So grateful for all the gardening knowledge Ruta shared with me. Loved sharing meals together and comparing our cultural and languages peculiarities haha

Gabriele is a really friendly host that made us laught many times. The house we stayed at had everything you need, clean roomes a good equiped kitchen, running hot water, a washing machine and much more. The Work abbit demanding but still very fun and enrichring, so that we learned many skills. We worked from 8 to 12:30 and had the rest of the day off. We could write Gabriele a list and he bought us all the groceries we needed and even offert us rides to the next city which is a bit far away. The surounding area is also very beautiful wirh many hiking trails to explore. I would recommend Gabriele anytime since he is a really nice host :)

Sabrina was a wonderful housemate who became part of our daily rhythm from the very first day. She always pitched in with the everyday tasks and carried them out with careful attention and reliability. She picked up new skills quickly and tackled unfamiliar duties with confidence and competence. Most of all, she did a great deal of wood‑grinding and learned a lot through that work. Because of her help we were able to bring several beautiful projects to life. The children adored her and loved drawing with her. She took her well‑earned breaks and used her time here for city excursions to Mainz, Trier, Luxembourg, Koblenz and Wiesbaden, and in doing so she gave us the gift of some much‑needed family-time. Thanks al lot for this time.

We had a great time at Liz and Craig’s place. We helped out on outdoor building projects and in the pottery studio. We loved the variety of work. Liz and Craig were so welcoming and friendly, and was great to learn wheel throwing basics! We even got to fire our own pieces to keep! Super nice pub in the village with friendly locals. We had food there and many pints. The location is a nice gateway to the sounds where we went for some hikes. Perfect accommodation in a lovely (big) private flat! Overall great 2 week stay! :)

Christina is kind and gental human, open and communicative. I appreciated how healthily she ate, how well she treats her body yoga, lots of laughter and bouncing on the trampoline all inspiring. Christina has a great work ethic, is positive and full of smiles as she journeys through the world.

I want to say goodbye and thank all the staff. It was an amazing experience, and I truly loved being there. Everyone treated me with such kindness — always smiling and always so thoughtful. The atmosphere of the place is truly special, with a gorgeous location near the jungle. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I wish you all the very best, and I hope to see you again soon.
