Hello. We are a boarding school in the very north of Denmark close to the sea. We are looking for international volunteers, who are able to stay with us for a period.
- We only consider applicants with a personal request for our school
- You should have an interest in music, art, sports etc. so that you can arrange activities with the students in the evenings
- Please make your application short and precise
- Remember to write your arrival and departure dates
- We do not accept group or couples applications
- Your stay should be minimum three weeks, maximum three months
- Apply in English or Italian

- Smoking/ drinking is strictly forbidden

We are a school that focuses on cultural exchange and diversity.
We actively encourage international volunteers as a means of strengthening our profile as a culturally diverse school.
An 'efterskole' is a unique Danish concept, that doesn't exist in many other countries. It is an independent school where the students complete the final year of elementary scool but - unlike normal elementary schools - the students live at the school. The students are normally 15-17 years old and attend the school for only one year. Every year in August a new group of students arrive. The school houses 140 students.
Besides obligatory subjects such as Danish, English, Mathematics, Science and Sports we also teach more interest based subjects. At the moment we offer photography, gastronomy , music, ceramic art, outdoor and explorer.

Arbeit
There are a lot of different possibilities depending on the skills and ideas of the volunteer. It could be:
- Skills like music, art, sports, etc. that you can arrange in the evening with the students.
-Assisting a teacher in a language class or in the hobby-like main subjects (photography, sports, music, outdoor, gastronomi, xplorer, badminton, football)
- Helping the kitchen team
- Helping our caretakers/janitors with maintenance, painting, restoring etc
- Helping our cleaning staff
- Your own idea. Maybe a project with the pupils in their spare time.
- There are two adults working at the school in the evenings and two or three at weekends. They plan activities with the pupils, make small events and make sure everything and everyone is okay.
We expect 25 hours of help per week. Mostly weekdays (sometimes during the day, sometimes in the evening) and also one or two weekend duties.
The tasks will vary from year to year, so contact us and we will work something out.

Unterkunft
You get a room in a house separate from the school (50m from the school). We provide three main meals and three smaller meals during the day.
Besides you get free access to the facilities of the school: photographic equipment (incl. analog cameras and a dark room), sports equipment, painting equipment, ceramic equipment, music instruments and there is full internet access.
