We really enjoyed having Joy stay with us for several weeks and help out with our projects. She is easy going, responsible, mature, intelligent, and did great work. We had an awesome time at Neil & Tayler’s and can only recommend this place! We stayed for five weeks just after the winter season was over. During this time, we primarily helped with renovation projects, painting, cleaning and some house keeping for green season guests. Communication was easy and smooth both before and during our stay, and expectations were clear at all times. Neil and Tayler are the most easy going people which makes the stay and work so smooth yet still respectful. They are also have good banter! During our time there, we were up to 12 volunteers. We enjoyed barbecues, a pizza night and poker games all together and it was simply a joy! The day-on-day-off schedule works super well. There is also room for flexibility if you’d like to go for an activity or trip on a certain day. We stayed in the main lodge which was great, good facilities, a private onsen and plenty of space for all of us to hang out or to enjoy your privacy. Depending on the schedule and people, transportation was available to go shopping or sightseeing. We really appreciate the trust Neil and Tayler had in us from day one and would come back any time!

I stayed at Mark's place for about three weeks and had the most amazing time. During my stay, there were four other WorkAwayers, which made the experience even more enjoyable. There are several different accommodation options to choose from, all cozy and comfortable. In the mornings, we helped with weeding, and you could decide for yourself when to start. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, with lovely walks nearby. And Eva the dog is always around for some cuddles! I would definitely recommend this WorkAway to anyone looking for a peaceful and rewarding experience.

My experience in Ohio was magical! I originally planned to stay for one month and ended up staying for two. Let me start with the most important part: the beautiful community I had the chance to meet, and Martin’s incredible hospitality. I was one of the first volunteers to arrive that season, so I got to choose a private camper van, while others were sharing or camping. As mentioned in the listing, the accommodation is basic—so if you're expecting five-star hotel standards, this might not be what you're looking for. The exchange is very fair. There’s a lot of flexibility, and you're free to manage your own working hours. In the end, everything balances out. Some people worked just a couple of hours a day, while others (like me) harvested chestnuts for up to 8 hours. Harvesting chestnuts can be physically demanding at times, but after a while you start to develop your own techniques and rhythms. Eventually, we figured out ways to work in teams of 2 or 3, which made things way more efficient, fun, and relaxed. Working with chestnuts is a story in itself—but once you get the hang of it, you start to understand and appreciate the process. Martin always takes the time to explain things and teach everything you need to know. He really knows what he’s doing, and he does it well. Important! If you’re planning to come to the farm, I recommend having clear communication from the beginning and asking all your questions—this helps ensure everyone’s on the same page about expectations and dynamics on the farm. We had the chance to cook at home, and every couple of days we’d take trips into town to buy groceries. We also went to events and had plenty of time to relax whenever we felt like it. I’m really grateful to the entire community and to Martin for making us feel so welcome. I definitely recommend this experience!

My experience in West Kelowna was amazing! I had the chance to learn more about Canadian culture and pick up new skills in agriculture, all while staying in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and lakes. The house is lovely, with lots of space to relax. The private room is super comfortable and gets great natural light. During my time there, I was the only volunteer, so I also had a private bathroom. The bus stop is just a few meters from the house, which makes it easy to get downtown or to the mall. Tony is flexible, kind, and always ready to teach and answer questions or explain the tasks. The work was varied and the schedule was clearly communicated. Along this season, I helped with peach and cherry trees, did some weeding in the garden, and a other varied things around the farm. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the delicious family dinners! I’m super thankful to Tomoko, who is a very generous and patient person, always taking the time to cook amazing meals and making sure nothing was ever missing on the table. Thank you so much for the Japanese curry and the homemade bread! In my free time, I got to explore a bit—visited some local bars and shopping centers, played board games at home, and even used one of the bikes to ride around the area (one of the best viewpoints in the city is just a few minutes away). I definitely recommend this experience. Thank you both for making me feel so welcome and part of the family!

Very cool and nice couple, we wish they stayed longer. It was a pleasure to host this lively people. They were always present, socializing with the guests and doing general reception duties. They stayed calm and professional in busy times. Hope you come back again.

Riccardo is a talkative guy, curious and always eager to learn new skills and knowledge. He's active, careful, peaceful and respectful, able to solve problems and face difficulties. He quickly adapted to my wild and low-comforts lifestyle, thanks to his love for nature. He gave a great contribution to my project helping me in building, gardening and mantaining the place. Eva is a GEM on all counts! Willing and quite capable of all tasks put to her. She accomplished some of the grossest jobs without complaint....just a justified 😝 Bob put all of her muscles to the test and Eva did very well! As a house quest - one of the best! Respectful, clean, communicative ....just a lovely person all around! I would be proud to have her for a daughter!

Sabine was an absolute joy to have stay with us. She is a dedicated worker , followed instructions to the letter, was a very capable horse woman and just a great human. She joined our little team and hit the ground running from the minute she started work. Anyone considering Sabine will be very lucky to have her around. She will always have a place to stay if she ever decided to visit Brisbane again.

I can't begin to describe how amazing this volunteer experience was with the Sven and Kat. first of all, they are an amazing power couple as I'd like to say because they take on any task and push through it. You can feel the love that they put together into their home and it was a true privilege to be part of it for almost 2 weeks. I was initially going for seven days and I gladly extend my stay when they offered me to stay longer. Spend special things for the healing sessions and for the exercise exercises you show me. I keep practice them every morning and it's a total game changer for my daily routine. Special things to you kat for your generosity and your openness, maybe you don't know this, but you already changed many people's life just by being yourself and I consider myself lucky to be able to know your interval a bit more. Overall experience, I take my heart to new friends that I hope to see again in your upcoming birthday celebration.

Staying with Lucinda was honestly one of the most amazing and unforgettable experiences we’ve had in Australia so far – and it was our very first Workaway! From the first moment, we felt so welcomed and at home. Lucinda is such a warm, kind, and inspiring person – always full of positive energy and care. Working on the farm and especially spending time with the horses was an absolute dream for us. We learned so much and enjoyed every single moment outside in nature. The work was fun, varied, and always fair – we really felt like a part of something meaningful! Her pets are also incredibly sweet and made our stay even more special. They added so much joy and warmth to the whole experience. The view of the rainforest surrounding her property was breathtaking and so calming — it truly made our time there even more peaceful and relaxing. We also had the pleasure of meeting such lovely and helpful people during our stay. Everyone we got to know was kind-hearted and made the experience even richer. This time will stay with us forever, and we would happily come back anytime! We’re so thankful for the trust, the lovely conversations, the delicious food, and all the laughter we shared! Jacob is experienced with machinery, and was a great help with tree removal and mulching. Sarah is a talented and skilled graphic designer and helped me with website and social media stuff on rainy days. They were a pleasure to host, highly recommended.

Our workaway experience with Mette and Kurt was really perfect. We immediately felt welcomed and at home with them. We were treated with great kindness and respect, fed very well and given nice, private accommodations. We were both able to do work that used our skills and knowledge so we were very happy and satisfied. We are very grateful to have had a chance to stay with Kurt and Mette who are very authentic, generous and warm people. It was a wonderful time that we will not forget. You could not find nicer workaway hosts! A very big thank you!!

Olah la - Amalia and Kate are gorgeous girls with BIG hearts , they were a pleasure and delight to have , during their 7 week stay they worked amazingly either as a team, or individuals as they are quite independent with a lot of commonsense, language was no barrier. The girls Assisted with our local charity making sandwiches for families and local schools in need a record breaking 500 sandwiches, and in community with carers of dementia getting stuck into cleaning windows and weeding to assist a carer and helped deliver furniture for a family. At home they did everything from housesitting - allowing me several getaways and I always came home to a clean and ordered house, and most of all well cared for cats. The took care of the cats daily , shopping, cooking, cleaning, gardening, tending to the worm farm and more. The girls bring with them a great sense of humour and are so easy going and laid back and equally easy to please. They introduced me to sky jo, a card game, play them at your own peril they don’t take any prisoners, but will provide lots of laughter while playing. We did some painting together and pamper and movie night, They took advantage and maximised all of their afternoons and time off, visiting beaches, shops, the south coast, and the mountains which Made me happy, And I took them to the lakes - you will fall so in love with these two girls you will want to adopt them.

Staying at Sonia's was a wonderful start to my time in New Zealand! It's a bit of a hike from the airport, but she was kind enough to pick me up from the nearest bus stop. The area is beautiful, and you have a stunning view of the bay from her back porch. Her work requests are very reasonable, she makes delicious, healthy homemade meals, and is always happy to share a card game or show you a nearby site. Would be happy to visit again!

Ricco was an absolute pleasure to host. He embraced every new challenge with enthusiasm and was always keen to learn a new skill. He has a natural love for the outdoors and was a perfect fit for our lifestyle. Ricco was also fantastic with the kids—especially with our son Tiger, who really misses spending time with him. He brought a great energy, was respectful, easy to communicate with, and quickly became part of the family. We highly recommend Ricco to any future hosts.

I couldn’t have started my adventure in Western Canada in a better way. Romy and Dani welcomed me in an incredible manner — they made me feel comfortable from the very first moments in their home. They’ve built a little piece of paradise in a place that brings joy to all nature lovers. There are so many things to see and do, with breathtaking landscapes just steps away from their cabin. The work was interesting and varied, from gardening and renovation to mechanics, and they were so fair and welcoming that it was a real pleasure to help them in their daily life. Romy is full of energy, incredibly kind, and made sure everything was perfectly organized so that my stay would go as smoothly as possible. Dani is a passionate and fascinating person, always ready to help, give advice, or tell you one of his stories. I loved playing board games with you (watch out for Dani — he’s a fierce competitor 😉), and going on hikes. Thank you for taking me with you to visit your family and for showing me a bit of your region. You are incredibly generous people — truly some of the kindest I’ve ever met. I can never thank you enough for letting me share a moment of your life and for welcoming me the way you did.

If you have the chance to host Pam consider yourself blessed. Pam is one of the hardest working people I have ever met. When I was making a meal Pam was the first one to set the table and ask if she could help. I could assign Pam a task and walk away knowing it would be completed quickly and accurately. Pam is tireless and the sort of person who pitches in with the chores on her day off. It was a pleasure taking Pam on excursions because she appreciated everything you do for her. Pam you are welcome back any time and your next visit can’t come soon enough.
