It was a bit of a last minute opportunity to have Jette here with us and we are so glad that it worked out. Unfortunately there was only the chance for her to staying for one week, but it was abslutely worthy and she managed to blend in harmoniously so quickly with the community and the rest of the workaway group. Jette is very adjustable, friendly and warm. She is very well-mannered and one can clearly see that she has a very empathic nature that allows her to relate very successfully with everybody. Even though it was a relative short time, she experienced a variety of tasks and activities, and she excelled in all aspects. It was also nice to witness her inclination for reflection and mindfulness and she has a very thoughtful way of approaching the world, which she shares very gracefully. We gladly hope for a visit again in the future and wishing her nothing but the best along the way. See you soon dear Jette!

Jana is a very pleasant person to have around. We experienced her as an open, fun, discreet, generous and engaged person, who is enjoyable to be with and talk to. Also workwise we were happy to have her here. Due to a heatwave, working in the garden was not an option, but she prepared good meals that she gave some thought. She would for example use recipes from her home country because she expected (and was right!) us to appreciate eating something new. Also she brought us some delicacies that we very much enjoyed. All in all: it was a good match, therefore we truly hope to welcome Jana back!

Jordan was with us for about two weeks and we were so glad and grateful for his presence and contribution! Jordan is very clever and inquisitive and everyone was so pleased by his respectful and kind ways of asking and inquiring about the eastern philosophy practiced here in the farm. One can recognize immediately that he has a lot of life experience and he has a particularly sweet and well-spoken way of sharing it. He has as well many manual skills and talents and eventually every department was looking forward to having the opportunity of having him around for the day :) His openness and desire to learn all the names of the community members, were as well remarkable to witness :) I would truly not miss out the chance to have his uplifting company if I were his next contacted host. All the best for your next adventures dear Jordan, see you soon!

I enjoyed my days with Sonia and Xaloc, who are very welcoming and generous. We had very inspiring and open conversations and their dogs are the most lovingly cuddling pets I ever met. Their place is amazing with a lot of potential and even though my visit was short I left very impressed.

Daniel is magical. Daniel can come back whenever he wants. We hope he does. He makes you feel good just by being himself. He loves rivers and we love rivers. We love Daniel.

Alex was with us for a couple of weeks and it was really pleasant to spend time with him. Alex has a soft and open nature. He reveals his heart with ease, while sharing great insights and he loves to experience new things. He does everything at the best of his capacity and he is very reflective with great insights. His communication style was also impeccable: he communicates always on time and with utmost sensitivity and visible respect. Definitely recommending Alex to any host who would love the company of a tender, responsible and curious soul around. See you soon dear Alex and all the best!

I had the pleasure of workawaying with Marco, Bandita, and his friend Andrea for a week. Marco is a really warm and welcoming person, open to sharing all his knowledge and answer questions in a lot of detail. It was a beautiful experience to stay with him, full of learning about the nature and permaculture, deep conversations about life and sweaty work. During the day we worked, ate and did siesta. Then, we took turns cooking, doing the dishes and spent our evenings eating and talking. Sometimes we met some of Marco's friends and other workawayers. The house is really in the middle of nowhere so if you want to discover some other places or be independent- you need a car. But it is also beautiful to stay around the house, read in the shade and listen to the sound of bees. I hope one day to be able to come back! Thank you Marco ❤️.

We had a wonderful three weeks with Michi, Akea, Diana and Rocco and would recommend this Workaway without hesitation. Our tasks mainly consisted of looking after the three dogs (definitly the best ones, each with their little personality), taking them on two 1-hour walks each day, feeding them, doing a bit of gardening, and some housekeeping when needed (never more than 3–4 hours a day). Michi often works in Bologna, so we were quite autonomous, but he was always available if needed. He is incredibly respectful, kind, flexible, and enjoys sharing his culture. His hospitality is exceptional, and he cooked almost every meal for us—it was absolutely delicious and a wonderful way to discover authentic Italian cuisine. Thank you so much, Michi, for your generosity, your trust, and all the moments we shared. You made us feel at home from the very first day, and we'll always remember this experience with a smile. We hope to see you (and the three little champions!) again someday. Tell us if you come near France :)

Miriam was a strong breath of fresh air during four warm summer weeks. Her gusts of fun and laughter are never ending and kept us on our wings throughout the day, as we tackled and learned from practical projects. With authenticity and a true self, she brought life to the house and our hearts, while also challenging our minds. Miriam provided tasteful Italian cooking and helped with a variety of practical chores. She is always helpful and likes to try new methods and machinery. I can strongly recommend Miriam’s presence to anyone who wants to be uplifted to the happy sky.

I had a great time with Greg and Barry, everything was nice and I loved working on the garden !

Unser Aufenthalt in Sabines Wohnung war super! Die 2 Katzen waren lieb, der Kühlschrank zu unserem großen Erstaunen prall gefüllt, der Garten war groß, unsere Kids hatten reichlich Spielzeug, alles war ordentlich und sauber - eine rundum positive 1. Erfahrung mit Workaway :) Danke dafür!

I found at Thorsten’s place a space to explore Sweden, cook vegan food, and laugh a lot. It has been an honour for me to be hosted here. Clear tasks, clear goals, and plenty of time to go on trips and explore the area. 10/10. På gjensyn, eternally grateful, Miriam

I was in a "visagra" moment and the workaway with Lucile Heloise and David really helped me. It remind me why i want to do workaways and why i want to live in group with people doing activites and sharing time. So if you are looking for a workaway in nature, close to the river, to the mountain, yo do some hikes, some velo but also some activites in the village and meet cool people and share your cotidian its a really cool option <3 The task are really simple and they are always trying to adapt to you to make it cool for everybody Tryyy and you will tell me :)

This is a request for review asked for by a university in France. Nathan stayed with me as a Workaway volunteer at the former Kařez–Zbiroh railway station in the Czech Republic, where I work on maintaining an historic/ heritage site. Nathan applied through the Workaway cultural exchange programme for a 45-day volunteer placement, which I accepted. He stayed at the station from 24 May 2026 until 20 July 2026 and completed a total of 45 volunteer working days during this period. As with the other people who volunteer here through Workaway, Nathan was not employed by me and there was no employment contract. His stay was part of a cultural exchange: volunteers live at the station, experience life in the Czech Republic and contribute their time and energy to the many different things involved in restoring and maintaining an old railway station. Nathan did not perform any commercial activities for the host business during his placement. His contribution was related to maintaining and improving the historic monument itself and improving the living and shared spaces used by the volunteers. During his time here, Nathan helped with a wide variety of activities. These included general cleaning and maintenance of the station buildings and grounds; sweeping, scrubbing and mopping interior spaces; cleaning furniture and common areas; gardening and repotting plants; mowing grass and other outdoor maintenance; painting walls; moving furniture and helping organise the property; and preparing accommodation for other volunteers. Nathan also helped with research into zinc-bromine battery technology and the RailVault concept, an open-source project exploring ways that retired railway wagons might be reused for sustainable energy storage and other open source applications. During Nathan’s stay, the station was also home to volunteers from several other countries, including Ireland, the United States and Poland. This meant that everyday life here involved cultural exchange, shared meals, collaborative work and people from different backgrounds living together. Nathan carried out the volunteer activities assigned to him and interacted appropriately with the other volunteers during his stay. Although Nathan was polite and fully compliant, I was a little disappointed that he showed not much enthusiasm for engaging with the zinc-bromide battery project or working with me using ChatGPT. At times, I felt his focus was more on completing the placement required by the university than becoming actively involved in open-source projects such as RailVault.xyz. He also appeared to align himself with other volunteers who were strongly opposed to the use of AI, rather than independently exploring its potential within the project. That said, AI is a significant and sometimes divisive topic among younger people, so I understand why this happened. Thanks for your contribution to the old station. We had a couple of rocky patches in the stay, yet all and all good. Hopefully meet again down the track. Much success with your studies.

Estuve con Angelique y Florian durante una semana y he estado como en mi propia casa. Sus dos hijos, Mahé y Alice, son muy generosos y abiertos, es muy gratificante pasar tiempo con ellos porque agradecen cualquier juego y disfrutan de todo. Florian y Angelique están pendientes de que no te falte de nada; en mi caso yo era vegetariano, y adaptaron sus comidas solo por mi o buscaban una alternativa si no podía tomar algún plato. La casa es un lugar muy especial, y está rodeada de un jardín salvaje con estanques y hasta un huerto. Es un sitio donde puedes desconectar de todo. En cuanto al trabajo, principalmente consiste en pasar tiempo con ellos, con Mahé y Alice, y sumarte a su día a día como uno más. Sinceramente, después de esta semana con ellos me he sentido parte de la familia. Merci beaucoup, j’espère continuer à avoir de vos nouvelles et que vos projets se déroulent très bien.

Si vous rêvez de vacances relax dans un resort paradisiaque où vous ne croisez que des touristes, vous n'êtes pas à la meilleure adresse. Par contre, si vous voulez réellement découvrir la Nouvelle-Calédonie au contact de ses habitants tout en apprenant à travailler la terre, ne cherchez pas plus loin. Franck, Chloé et toute leur famille sont super sympas et accueillants. Très investis dans leurs activités, il faut être prêt à aider pour les repas et à la maison en général, mais plus on donne plus on reçoit en contrepartie. Le travail dans les champs est parfois physique et vous n'aurez pas de mal à vous endormir le soir, mais tout se fait dans la bonne humeur et les journées ne sont pas répétitives. Pour le reste, que vous aimiez la montagne, la mer, les animaux sauvages, les plages paradisiaques ou les couchers de soleil, allez en Calédonie, vous ne serez pas déçus. Un conseil: contactez-les longtemps à l'avance, ils ont beaucoup de demandes.

Teddy, Florie et leurs enfants nous ont accueilli avec beaucoup de simplicité et de bienveillance: nous avons adoré cette première expérience Workaway en Belgique! Nous avons pu contribuer à des tâches variées, découvrir des savoir-faire et même rencontrer des personnes du village! Teddy et Florie ont fait un incroyable travail de construction pour leur maison et le magnifique jardin qui l'entoure, c'était un plaisir de passer du temps avec eux! Merci et bonne continuation, nous reviendrons avec plaisir :)

Ale is a truly talented volunteer with an artistic soul. He can draw, sing, play musical instruments, write songs, and express his creativity in so many ways. He's gentle, caring, and incredibly patient with the children in our project. He was always willing to help with any task we asked, no matter what it was, and never complained. More than a volunteer, Ale became a friend. He shared thoughtful advice, inspired us with new ideas, and even taught the children how to make a traditional pastry from his hometown. It became one of our favorite memories together. Thank you so much, Ale. It was a real pleasure having you at Bến, and you'll always be welcome back!

Foedora, Joffrey et Joshua ont été super! Ça a été un plaisir de les recevoir. Ils ont le contacte facile, ils sont volontaires et ont de bonnes connaissances. On a pu avancer sur plusieurs chantiers, comme la récolte et transformation des prunes, l'entretien du jardin et on a même trouvé le temps de faire du paneer. Vous êtes les bienvenus quand vous voulez, c'est toujours un plaisir d'avoir une famille enthousiaste comme celle ci!
