Lucie is a burst of sunshine! With her pleasant demeanor and sense of humour, she was a joy to have stay with us. And such an optimist!! ( no matter how many weeds we put in her path:) She was self-motivated and so helpful throughout her stay- preparing interesting, tasty meals- gardening and weeding- or just keeping our kitchen spotless! Kind and respectful with young and old, Lucie is just a lovely, easy going person. We will miss you!

Ho Tin & Lok Sze (Summer and Brian) are simply delightful. We loved having them here with us and they did a fabulous job. We know they will have a fabulous journey for the rest of their travels and if you have a chance to bring them into your team you should.

Sharon was an absolute joy to have in our home for a couple of weeks. From the moment she arrived, she brought an incredibly positive energy and a super pleasant presence that made her feel like a part of our family almost instantly. She qukkcly integrated into our daily routines. Our boys absolutely loved her, and by the time she left, it truly felt like they (and us) had gained a wonderful new friend. Beyond being fantastic with the kids, Sharon generously shared her passions with us, we loved connecting over her love for yoga and her fantastic cooking! We are going to miss her terribly. If you get the chance to host Sharon, don't hesitate. She is an exceptional Workawayer who leaves a lasting, beautiful impact. Thank you for everything, Sharon!

We loved our time at Riley’s Hill, we were here for 3 weeks. Corinne and Andrew were kind and caring hosts. Andrew kept us laughing and entertained during our stay. We wish we got to spend some more time with Corinne and Clovis (who were staying in Brisbane) but hope our paths will cross again 💫 Clovis, Corinne’s daughter was so sweet, we thoroughly enjoyed our game of Catan with her. Work varied from cleaning, gardening and organising. It’s such a beautiful place. Our bedroom was so comfortable and spacious. We were fortunate enough to borrow their car whilst we were here so we were able to do some amazing day trips on our days off. We loved the BBQ evening with everyone including Willpa! - additional feedback. I got to reunite with Corinne and Clovis at their place in Brissy a few months later once my friend, Emma, had left to return to the UK, I looked after Roalfe (their very cute dog full of character!) whilst they were away too and did some cleaning etc. It was a joy to stay with them and hope to see them again and keep in touch. They are very special people ☺️

Naomi was a polite guest with a great sense of humour. She worked hard independently and was a real asset to our operation. She is always welcome back.

I loved my first Workaway experience! 💖 I had an incredible two weeks staying with Elizabeth, Simon, and their beautiful children. It was lovely sharing my children's yoga books and affirmation cards with them. We enjoyed playing games, swimming in the pool, and had lots of fun adventures! 🧜‍♂️ Highlight of the experience: I felt a lot of love being here, which means everything to me! 🥰 The whole family are kind and thoughtful, and Bon Bon is the sweetest little boy who had me crying laughing most days! 💕🤣 So many magical memories that I'll cherish in my heart forever. I'm going to miss you all. 🥹 Until next time...

Clara was with us just for a short stay with her friends. They were very easy to have on board, did great work and were great company. Thanks Clara and friends!

Luca was a terrific Workawayer. He had bundles of energy & worked incredibly hard. He was very willing to put his hand to anything, even the most tedious task. He mostly worked outside in the garden strimming, mowing, weeding and clearing. He also did some work in the house doing tasks like cleaning windows. He was super helpful in the kitchen when we were preparing dinner as he loves to cook. He cooked several delicious meals for us during his stay. He came by car so was very independent.and was able to run errands for us in his car. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for future Workaway’s.

I spent a wonderful week at Rayllei's house! During this time, I found a new friend! Rayllei is an incredible person, very open to the world, eager to learn new things, and able to enjoy life in a way that only children can. And I immediately felt accepted, like I belonged, the moment I arrived! The challenges we tackled were exciting: if you've never tried building a house out of clay, believe me, you have to try it! It's an incredible childish feeling when you don't take serious things like building a house seriously, when you're sculpting a new wall and you know you've created something that will last for years! I helped Rayllei organize the space, and we cooked Brazilian food together. He showed me lots of waterfalls and the surrounding area. It gets a bit chilly at altitude in the winter evenings and at night, so bring warm clothes. However, Rayllei, as a gracious host, will immediately provide you with a warm jacket and a few blankets. I highly recommend visiting this person! This is the kind of experience where you don't feel like an employee, volunteer, or guest; you feel at home. Thank you for this experience, Rayllei!

Farmića is a place like no other; it feels like home. Ivana, Ivan, Sanela, Barbara, Mia and all the others are always there for the dogs; they care for them with their whole heart. The work didn't feel like work, as it gave you something back every day. We liked to spend our free time with the kennel dogs, and Ivana trusted us to take them everywhere we wanted. We took nice swims in a lake with Dino and went hiking with Mata and Lino – memories we will never forget. Every dog is special and loving and just wants humans to love them. Ivana is a person who lives for the animals. She gives everything she has and is a kind and funny soul; in just a few weeks she has grown close to our hearts. When we experienced the tragic loss of our dear Poppy, she was there for us and gave everything she could. We recommend Farmića to everyone and can't wait to come back to this place full of love. Irem is the sweetest girl she helped everything around the house you didn’t have to tell her she knew exactly what to do. Smart intelligent and she’s always welcome back.

We had a great time hosting Anna and Hamish! They were incredibly helpful across the board, eagerly pitching in with both household chores and farm work. Beyond being great workers, they were just lovely people to have around the place. Tessa and Nerone adored them, too!! We shared some wonderful conversations over meals, chatting about everything from Brexit to life back in New Zealand. They are easygoing, reliable, and excellent company. Any host would be lucky to have them!

I had an amazing 8 days with Elaine and her two dogs. Elaine is highly conversational, with lots of insights to offer and a great sense of humour. We did lots of interesting tasks, some that I hadn't done before but wasn't much of a challenge to learn. I helped set up three trellises for berries and planted two trees. We took apart and reassembled a malfunctionung waterpump, lined a gutter with a wire mesh, fixed a leak, went wild willow harvesting, and made the lovely big glasshouse tidy and settled for winter, plus other little sidequests. I particularly enjoyed being able to problem-solve alongside Elaine and she readily listened to suggestions and even implemented a couple that I learned in my farm days. Castlemaine Digging's National park is delightful to walk through and I really enjoyed Elaine's ecological and historical knowledge of the surrounding area. There's a lichenized fungi called a Yellow Navel! And a sticky tongued Sundew plant that is carnivorous! Staying in the treehouse was a very enjoyable experience. Most meals are self catered so it might not be ideal for someone who doesn't want to or is not confident in cooking. I enjoyed so many garden greens, eggs from the chooks, lamb from her sheep and tamarillos from the very productive tree in her glasshouse and it was easy to stock up on anything else that was needed. A real gem of a place to volunteer!

My experience at Claire's and Michiel's was such a unique one. It was my first workaway ever and I really didn't know what to expect. The second I got there I felt so welcomed by the family. Soon this place became a real safe space and I had a wonderful time helping on the project and spending free time with the family and the other workawayers. When it came to the jobs Michiel offered a variety of different task we could choose ourselves. He explained every task really well and we could always ask again and again if we didn't understand. At lunch or at the dinner table was always so much going on. Claire cooks really wonderful food and often we had long meals and a lot of fun chatting and playing games after. On the weekends we often spend time going for a walk, on a bike ride or to the ocean. The nature surrounding the place is just beautiful! Overall I can recommend going to Claire's and Michiel's place 100%. I felt so welcomed there and also being with so many other workawayers from different countries was so so cool! I would totally come back!

Miriam is so respectful, so funny, so kind and so smart. Imagine a person that just feels like a warm hug - that’s her. And not like a cliché, actually she just always knows what’s needed on a deeper level. -She’s super clued in emotionally and holds herself like a wise woman, super aware of who she’s is, her values and her and others’ needs. That makes it SO easy to host her cause you never have to second guess if she needs something or if a task is suitable, she’ll tell you straight (in a super loving way). Because of this (and her amazing personality) we quickly became close friends and it was a joy having her in the house. I know we’ll meet Miriam again and stay in touch. Thank you for your loving contribution Miriam 🙏❤️

Due to various circumstances beyond our - and Kevin's - control, Kevin and Melissa did different jobs here from what we had originally intended. Kevin proved to be most adaptable, tackling tough manual work and help with planning/strategy with equal aplomb! Melissa was highly efficient in housekeeping and we miss her attention to detail already! They were both courteous and friendly with our staff. Further to this, Kevin was extremely helpful in expanding our presence in the environmental preservation/improvement sphere by getting us to join "Restor". I can highly recommend Kevin and Melissa to any eco friendly hosts.

Kate and Kai were excellent workawayers who we were extremely grateful to have come to help us out in our home and garden. They both had great personalities brought a special energy to our family life. I wish them all the best on their forward journey and would highly recommend them as a workaway couple to any host.
