We stayed for two weeks with Darren and the crew in Tahsis, and would've stayed longer if we could! The vibes were great - we really enjoyed both the social and working sides of staying on the property. For our first week, we took on some trail maintenance and trail building, which was rewarding as hell, and our second week we helped build beams, braces and rafters for Nico and Marcos Big Shed. The independence we were given in our tasks and time management was really appreciated, and made us feel like valuable members of the farm from the get go. We learned a fair bit of French from all the beautiful Frenchies, ate delicious pizza, and maybe drank too many beers at the marina. So grateful for all the memories and will miss our little cabin!

I had such a lovely time with Aimee on her farm! The property is very peaceful and beautiful, and the dogs were very cute and friendly. Aimee was very easy to get along with and we always had something interesting to chat about, she took me to see some surrounding farms and also to the towns nearby so I could experience more of the Spanish culture. Overall a wonderful experience!

It was great to have Max here for about 2 weeks this summer! We received a full logging truck of fire wood, and he was super fast cutting the logs. He also helped with splitting and stacking the wood. Weeding the garden was another chore he helped us with, and his cooking and baking skills were much appreciated by all! A very pleasant young man who is always welcome to visit.

We did not stay at Silvia's place but she gave us the opportunity to stay at her friends' Inge and Werner. We had an amazing time there, we had a really nice house just for us and the animals were so lovely. We shared some good nights with the owners, drinking beers, eating pizzas and talking about travelling. We missed them so much, it was hard to leave them! I highly recommend this place, we couldn't have dreamed of a better first experience as volunteers. Thank you!

I only spent a week with Simon, Emma, the kids, and the other volunteer, Patrick but it was my best workaway experience so far. First evening there was a big storm, so wood cutting was needed after that, but he had a list of tasks to do and we could choose from that, too. Simon always wanted to be sure that the task was OK for us and he always created a safe workspace, I really appriciate that. We ate really yummy foods everyday and it was really peaceful to chill on the terrace. Simon took us to the farmers' market and he gave us some ideas what to explore in Graz. It was also possible to use their bikes to go to the city centre. He organised a hiking tour for us near to the Slovenian border which was also a fun day. On my last day Simon also took me to the train station. I am very happy that I met the family because they are a really inspiring, open-minded, creative, curious, smart, kind people. I hope that I can come back in the future and show some new harmonium skills:) Thank you for everything!

Where to begin….it’s difficult to put into words! I stayed at Tommy's place for 3 weeks, all the memories I have from this place I will forever hold them into my heart! Everyday the scenery was different, the valley there is a magical place and the cows make everything more peaceful and relaxing. I got the chance to make some woodworking projects and renovate the barn, also taste very good cheese, swin at the lake and had some very nice hikes. Tommy is funny, caring, warm, and very welcoming. I got to meet almost everyone in Cornwall had dinners together and tell so many stories. I will definitely go back whenever I have the chance again. Molte grazie Tommy!

My first ever workaway experience! Absolutely incredible. Extremely warm and welcoming family as soon as we met. The work was fun and very enjoyable, cabin cleaning, painting, diy wood work. The FOOD Lotta and Tommi prepared was so delicious - first time eating reindeer too. Time off was spent going on a hike or joining in on family activities, canoeing down the river was certainly a highlight. I would definitely 110% be back again!!!

Sofia and Pitias we're good workawayers. They did a variety of Jobs from cleaning ,gardening ,cement work and brick laying. I wish them all the luck

Chris is a super good worker, experienced and independet. You don't have to explain anything twice he understands what has to been done. He is organized and hard working. Ontop he is a really great, amazing, person. You can laugh alot having great conversation. It was a fantastic time we had together and we all was very sad whan he left. We would be very happy to see him again. I can highly recommend him as a worker and a good friend.

I spent 3 weeks with the NGO and I have really enjoyed my stay. The work is as described in the profile, and well coordinated on site. During free time there is plenty of beaches and trails to explore, and things to built in the camps if you want to get creative :) good atmosphere between the volonteers and the other workers there 🤗

Liz and Christophe are two extremely passionate and motivated people who love the project they are carrying out. Their camping is a wonderful place, where nature completely hugs you and it's impossible not to feel connected to it. We stayed during the high season, there were many clients and tasks to do, the situation was very dynamic and unfortunately we didn't have much time for big conversations, but we noticed their determination and really admire it. The hours of work were well defined, meals were delicious and we ate all together, also with the two sons of Cristophe who were full of energy and vitality. À bientôt, les italiennes

I've been part of here for two weeks and I had such a great time. It was probably the most intense time for the project since I arrived one week before the opening of the art residency. I had the chance to witness the results of all the hard work these beautiful people have put through in the last few years and contribute to that. I expected only to help paint murals but I had much more than that and I really enjoyed it! I helped cook vegan food, cleaned/organized the house space for upcoming guests and artists and was able to share my art and get support from Alex and the team. This is a place where to find community, inspiration, new skills, and good company, totally recommended!

Mi experiencia fue genial, estuve 16 días, Laura es una mujer increíble con una gran conversación y un gran corazón, siempre pendiente de todo y de todos, los paseos con los perros los disfrute muchísimo, el trabajo en playa limpiando y colocando palmas en la palapa o limpiando el jardín, un lugar único y fuera de tanto turismo, la convivencia a la hora de comer, disfrutando de la conversación de todos los voluntarios y con Laura dejan mucho aprendizaje, hay mucho tiempo para disfrutar de la playa o de salir a lugares cercanos, Conocí a su familia y a Ronald y todos siempre amables, nos hacen sentir en familia. Sin duda regresaré, muchas gracias por todo.

Tom and Alice are a lovely young couple with a wonderful future ahead of them. The time they spent with us was great. It was a pleasure to have them in our home. Both work hard and nothing was a bother to them. They help do a lot of things around our property that we can't express how much it helped us out. We are both in our 60's and having young helping hands was a godsend. We are keen to follow their adventures in the future and are always welcome back.

I'm so grateful to Claudia for the wonderful experience she gave me! I was there in August 2023 and it's still one of the best times I've had! Claudia is an amazing woman - with an inspiring life-story she is passionately devoted to her horses, immensely gifted at horse therapy and very kind and generous to her volunteers. Her retreat is an easy bus ride from the center of town with buses running frequently. It is a beautiful pastoral setting , and the accommodation is comfortable with everything you need - nice little kitchen, clean bathroom with good water pressure, nice beds and plenty of fresh air and sunlight. I really appreciated how Claudia matches the skills of the volunteers with different types of work and help that she needs. Of course, the best part of the volunteer opportunity is to learn about and take part in the horse therapy. For me, it was a wonderful way to lose my fear of large animals so when I went snorkeling with sea lions and other large animals I didn't get scared. I enjoyed the balance of being in the countryside in a peaceful cottage and going into town frequently. Also, I piggybacked my volunteer work with some boat day trips to nearby islands and I also went to two other big island where I did other boat day trips. I'm really glad I did both as I saw everything that tourists want to see, but I also had a very authentic animal encounter and a very peaceful interlude as a volunteer. Thanks so much, Claudia. I'll come back whenever you want!

How incredible to be able to stay with Julio and César on their beautiful organic farm, a sanctuary for Giant Tortoises who were virtually right outside my bedroom door! César is incredibly knowledgable about all-things-conservation and he has enormous energy. It was great fun to translate his tours because I tried to convey his spirit as well all the information he has. We worked hard but it was inspiring! I also enjoyed working with Julio. He's a great chef and taught me local dishes. I admire his dedication to the project he's doing with his father, and his bike tours are great. And, for a little context: The farm is a short bus ride from the center of town. It's quite easy to do, and it is lovely to be staying in the midst of pure Nature. What is really special is that you are in the Galapagos! I found quite a few opportunities to hang out with sea lions and marine iquanas without having to pay for tours. Having said that, definitely plan on doing some tours and going to at least San Cristobal because you will see much more wild life on the tours. As far as meals go, I found that most often I'd hop on the bus and have a large late lunch in town, so did minimal cooking in their fantastic professional kitchen that I was welcomed to use. This is a great opportunity for an intrepid traveler who wants to linger in the Galapagos as I did! Thank you, Julio and César

Anna and Robert have been great company during their stay with us. They helped us tackle some jobs on the farm and finish some long drawn-out projects. Both Anna and Robert were wonderful with our kids and the girls really enjoyed drawing and playing with them. It was a pleasure to meet and spend time with Anna and Robert, and we wish them all the best on their travels.

Merveilleuse expérience Workaway avec Murielle et Olivier. J'ai été accueillie dans la maison avec gentillesse comme un membre de la famille. Le projet de rénovation de la maison, du jardin et des petites maisons dans la forêt nécessite beaucoup de travail, il y a donc toujours quelque chose à faire, mais dans un environnement détendu et accueillant. Murielle est venue me chercher à mon ancien logement et m'a accompagné jusqu'au ferry lors de mon départ. On m'a offert beaucoup de temps libre et aussi la possibilité d'utiliser une de leurs voitures, même si le bus pour FDF est de toute façon très pratique. Il y a également de belles promenades à faire dans les environs. Des hôtes extrêmement accueillants, vraiment trop gentils ! --- Lovely Workaway experience with Murielle and Olivier. I was welcomed into the house with kindness as a member of the family. The project of renovating the house, garden, and small forest homes needs a lot of work, so there is always something to do, but still in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Murielle picked me up at my previous location and when I left she drove me to the ferry. I was offered a lot of free time and also the opportunity to use one of their cars, even though anyway the bus to go to FDF is very practical. There are also nice strolls to take in the surrounding area. Extremely nice hosts, honestly too kind!

I had my first experience with Workaway at Starbuck's place, and I loved it so much!! Starbuck and their family were amazing hosts, so open and inviting, and truly made me feel part of the family. I got to take part in family outings, share meals and had great experiences thanks to Starbuck who knows so many cool places and people in the Bay! I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area! Regarding the tasks, it was pretty simple, I cleaned the dishes, dusted the floor, took Kookie (their friendly and adorable dog) on walks, did some laundry, a bit of tidying up, and helping Starbuck with various other things. Starbuck was super flexible, and the tasks never were a burden, I also had time on my own to explore the Bay area, which is super interesting and has lots to offer. There are practical bus stops near by, which make travelling quite easy I had my own room and bathroom, which gave me privacy (not that I needed it, but still, was enjoyable). Starbuck also made sure that my room was free of any dust or dog hair (she never goes in the bedroom), and even though I have serious allergies I had no problem (still took some anti histaminics when I was with kookie, that Starbuck provided me) Thank you so much <3

Wonderful Workaway experience here, in a friendly, welcoming and family-like environment. The tasks to be done can be various, small maintenance, gardening, cleaning, washing dishes, but always in a quiet and relaxed way. Laetitia is fantastic! The place is in the inland of Martinique, in the middle of the forest. In two minutes of descent you reach a wonderful place by the river, where you can relax or swim: truly stunning location, breathtaking. Maybe it's the relaxed atmosphere or the sounds of the forest, but I haven't slept so well in years (with a mosquito net on the bed, because mosquitoes can be annoying)! --- Excellente expérience de workaway ici dans une ambiance conviviale, accueillante et familiale. Les tâches sont variées, petit bricolage, jardinage, nettoyage, vaisselle, mais toujours dans le calme et la convivialité. Laetitia est fantastique ! Le lieu est situé à l'intérieur de la Martinique, en plein milieu de la forêt. Une descente de deux minutes vous amène à un endroit de rêve au bord de la rivière, où vous pouvez vous détendre ou vous baigner : un lieu vraiment exceptionnel. Peut-être est-ce l'air détendu ou les sonorités de la forêt, mais je n'ai pas aussi bien dormi depuis des années (avec une moustiquaire sur le lit, parce que les moustiques peuvent être embêtants) !
