Description
I live in the Bega Valley which is located adjacent to the south-eastern coastline of NSW. There are many beaches, tranquil rain forest, rivers and lakes as well as picturesque mountain backdrops. It is mainly a rural area with lots of small towns and villages. It is an area of natural beauty, for those who want to relax, swim, surf, bush walk, yoga, or meditate There are also gym classes, surf lessons, and free style dance workouts.
My property is located on the Bega river with ocean views and backs onto National Park.
There is an abundance of native wildlife surrounding my home.
It is within walking distance to shops, cafes, gorgeous beaches, and bush walking tracks.
There are live music venues close by where both local and interstate musicians often play.
May to November is our whale watching season and you can often view whales breaching from my deck.
Having your own transport would be an advantage to get around as public transport is limited. However, there are many beaches, bush walks, shops, cafes and wharf within walking distance. There is also a club, pub, and music venues close by.
The snowy mountains, Mount Kosciuszko, are home to Australia's highest peak and is only a 2hr 45 min drive away. June to October is our ski season. Best time to climb mount Kosciuszko is between December and March after the snow melts and wild flowers are in bloom. There are options for either a 13km return trek or a 18.6 km return hike.
As for me in the 1980s I went back packing through South East Asia, India, Africa and Europe for 2.5 years. In more recent years I have traveled through Brazil, Ireland, Morocco and walked from Portugal to Spain. I have also worked on a volunteer program in Zambia. My passion is traveling and meeting new people.
I also love music and I am involved in local community dance sessions; these only run during school term and are freestyle dance without lights.
I am a good cook and can provide yummy vegetarian meals. I am also able to prepare food without gluten or work around other dietary needs.
I am offering comfortable accommodation with private bedrooms plus vegetarian meals in return for basic gardening and other home & property chores.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cafes and shops are within walking distance. Bush walking and uncrowded beaches are at the door step.
There are many national parks and walks in the area where you can immerse yourself in Australia's natural environment.
From around my 2.5 acres property you will be able to experience the sights, sounds and scent of our country with sightings of Kangaroos, echidna, wombats and a variety of birds.
It is a chilled relaxed environment with lots of friendly locals.
