    Description

In 2015, we moved from CA, to the bluegrass region of Kentucky, to pursue the dream of living a more wholesome, healthy, self- sustaining existence closer to nature. Our homes and farm are located in the hills, just South of Lexington. We care for multiple livestock dogs, kitties, horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits. The scenic countryside of rolling hills and green pastures is great for photography, and other outdoor activities!
We are multi racial and cultural, speaking English, Japanese and some Spanish too! Our 3 sons (10, 12, 15) are friendly, smart, and lots of fun—they’ll be happy to engage you in a game of Chess, Monopoly, or Othello, etc. or bake some cookies or cake with you! We all help around the house, farm and with the animals, and there’s plenty of projects to engage in!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will have an opportunity to integrate into our routine. You can explore and become friends with our land and animals, experiencing a down to earth and back to basics approach to food and living. You could learn to hand milk a cow for example, repair the barn or tractor or assist in a difficult lamb birth, or patch a fence, or clear some brush, or muck out the barn or make some butter, yoghurt or cheese! We are also happy to help with learning English skills.
Depending on the time of year, there are always different projects going on and things to do and learn!
If you have any questions please ask!
