Description
We are a German family, living in NZ since 19 years, with 3 children, who have left home and are at university or working.
We have 2 lovely dogs , some chickens , 4 sheep and are in the final process of building our off grid house in the Far North in Kerikeri. We have a 15 acre property where we continuously increase the plantations, with the aim to increase biodiversity, and help witj erosion control. Stefan and I live a pre retirement lifestyle and either work on our house or land.
Accommodation is in a cute little , insulated caravan (suitable for 2 when travelling together). In addition we can offer places to park a camper van. Life for our workawayers is a nice camp set up, with shared kitchen and bathroom use in our house. We share all our meals in the house.
If anyone wants support to work on their own van, Stefan has all the wood working tools and knoweledge and is always happy to give advice.
We provide 3 meals a day and can accommodate a range of dietary requirements. We usually cook fresh every evening , and like to spend some time around the bonfire - if weather conditions allow for it.
We have had quite a few workawayers over the last 24 months, helping us with renovations, house building and gardening. We always had a great time and are very inclusive.
Kerikeri has no public transport, so it is a good idea to come by car however we are always happy to pick anyone up from the intercity bus. We also have 2 push bikes that we can share with our guests to explore the area.Types of help and learning opportunities
