Description
I am a retired medical herbalist living on 5 acres of land. My work is to grow herbs for medicine, and make an edible landscape with lots of fruit and nut trees. There's 20 freerange chickens , Tosca the rescue dog , & Tiki the rescue goat busy eating the edible landscape. The farm lies between the Whangarahi river and Ara Manawa stream. There's one Landshare (it's like a lease) and 1 or 2 wwoofers helping out, ..the work is diverse, we planted kumara in October, and prepared garden beds for lots of Echinacea and Ashwagandha seedlings;..cleaned out the chicken houses (though the chickens prefer to roost up the walnut tree); we dug out wild ginger from streamside to bulk up the compost pile, and harvested bananas. On rainy days we do cleaning or make tinctures.
