Where to begin….it’s difficult to put into words! I stayed at Tommy's place for 3 weeks, all the memories I have from this place I will forever hold them into my heart! Everyday the scenery was different, the valley there is a magical place and the cows make everything more peaceful and relaxing. I got the chance to make some woodworking projects
… read more and renovate the barn, also taste very good cheese, swin at the lake and had some very nice hikes. Tommy is funny, caring, warm, and very welcoming. I got to meet almost everyone in Cornwall had dinners together and tell so many stories. I will definitely go back whenever I have the chance again. Molte grazie Tommy!

Was a pleasure having James working on my farm. He was very helpful with everything from cooking and cleaning to manual labor on the farm. We also became good friends! I hope to see him again in both of our travels. :)

Tyler is a great guy, always positive and eager to work. I really enjoyed the time with him and wish i could have provided more experience because I could tell he was ready to soak up everything that came his way. Hope to see you again!

Place was magnificent! Tom was a great host and showed us his cheese making operation. As a guy who wants to also get into homesteading/farming, this was a great look into just how much effort goes into it. We helped Tom build trellises for his tomatoes in the garden, cleaned out his barn and pasture, weedwhacked around the perimeter of his

Shared some good convos with Tom and really valued my time here. I wish you well man. You may even see me return at some point to help you with the barn Demo. Highly recommend this workaway. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I cannot recommend Tommy's farm enough! I spent about ten days there and it has impacted me in ways I couldn't have imagined. The Valley is GORGEOUS, truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. During my stay, I visited the town beach (Cornwall itself is super fun to explore!), Kent Falls State Park, the Cornwall Co-op Farmer's Market,

My tasks on the farm were a combination of animal care (cleaning the barn, feeding, filling water), clearing out the larger barn, and gardening. Coming from the city, it was great to have time to connect to nature, animals, and the earth. Life on the farm teaches you to appreciate the small things. I'm excited to go back! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

The beauty of this farm and the valley is reason enough to do this Workaway, and Tom is such a wonderful host too. He is so humble and patient and understands what it is to be a Workawayer and a host which I think is important. It is a wonderful experience to come here and experience “farm-life” (haha). For the cute cows, the wine, the soon to be

Moira was wonderful to have on the farm even though it was a short stay! She was very easy going and was a huge help prepping the garden beds for planting. I hope to have her on the farm again this summer. :)

Staying at Tommy’s farm was a refreshing experience. As a first-time workawayer I felt very comfortable and learned a lot from Tommy during my short stay. There were a variety of tasks to complete during the day with a healthy balance of fresh air, nutritious food, and wine. General tasks included clearing the garden and tending to the cow’s

I quickly realized I could trust Mark with taking care of the animals, bringing them out to pasture and keeping them watered while I had to go off and deliver hay. He spent a total of 2 months with his dog named Cow and both of them became a big part of the farm. I hope to see you again one day in Cornwall. :) Thank you Mark!

It was hard to leave the Farm. This place is incredible. Tommy is such a great host and I honestly consider him a friend. The farm is peaceful and there is always something to do, whether it’s tearing down a shed, prying nails, watering the cows, expanding the garden, work here is always fun and dinners together are filled with lively conversation

Katie stayed at the farm for around 3 weeks and I loved every second of it. She provided an energy that would shine a light on the important things and make you laugh during the frivolous moments. The farm is a sanctuary. Cornwall is such a sweet village with kind locals, and the valley the farm is in is absolutely serene (dare you to go for a night time stargaze walk through the valley!). The work is ever changing, my experience mostly consisted of feeding, mucking, moving the cows out to the pasture, cooking, tending to the house, tending to the garden. You'll have quite a bit of down time too, I read the library's collection of Kurt Vonnegut Novels! & Just FYI Tommys a total craftsman, that wine he mentions is delicious 🌈! I had an amazing time on Tommy’s farm! Tommy’s a kind, easygoing guy who clearly cares a lot about his animals, his project, and the workawayers who stay with him. Oh my goodness I miss your scones, pies and breads! Not only does she love baking and cooking for people...Lillian also shared her huge heart and sense of humor with everyone here at the farm. I spent the past month at Tommy's farm, and I left having had one of the most impactful times of my life to date. Tommy's enormous heart influences everything about the Workaway experience. He shows tremendous care for his animals, takes care to show his workawayers the area, and emphasizes his love for family via nightly family dinners which
… read more often last up to 2 hours. In our first few days, he played guitar for me, invited me to a neighborhood bonfire, and brought me to a local ice cream shop. Later in the month we went to the family pizzeria and a local chocolate making farm! Each Saturday, we got pastries at the local farmers' market. The farm acts as a staple of the community, and as a workawayer, you become part of that community quickly if you give yourself to the experience.
The work consists of 4-5 hours each day during the work week. There are consistent chores to be done -- milking, washing buckets, watering and feeding animals, moving cows to the valley -- but also larger tasks which change daily. During my time, we demolished a shed, harvested squash, made wine, cleaned the barn and hay loft, mucked, reinsulated the attic, and much more. This will of course also depend on the season in which you stay. This farm best suits itself to self-starters. We joked that people have to "really want" the work, but that's true. Take initiative, and go for it! There's always tasks to be done, and if you work hard, you will really feel like you fully participated in the experience. After your work time, the rest of the day is yours! There's a craft room in the library, an INCREDIBLE 12 mile hike, lots of running trails, a waterfall to explore, and many places to read. My favorite was baking scones for people passing in and out of the house.
The house, the farm, and Cornwall itself are beautiful. During sunrise and sunset, a thick layer of fog covers the valley and surrounding mountains, and I spent many mornings and evenings watching it from the porch.
I cannot recommend this farm enough, and I will absolutely be visiting again once I get back to school. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
