Description
Hi! We are Laura, Gianluca, and our 8-month-old son, Sirio. Along with us, there are 7 dogs and a cat!
We live in the mountains in Piedmont, in a village called Garessio.
We love being in nature, enjoying good company, and eating well — to make that happen, we have a small vegetable garden, a greenhouse, and some fruit trees.
We live in a small hamlet surrounded by woods, with a beautiful view of the mountains.
In Garessio, just a 3-minute drive away, there’s a supermarket, a post office, shops, cafés, restaurants, and a small cinema.
The nearest train station is about 30 minutes away by bus.Types of help and learning opportunities

I, Laura, speak English and Spanish, while Gianluca currently speaks only Italian.
We have a lovely group of friends with whom we often get together for shared dinners, and we'd love to include future volunteers/workers in our social activities.
I work for an environmental NGO and also have a small creative sewing project.
Gianluca is a skilled worker with a thousand passions — bikes, caves, skiing, and more — and he's incredibly handy: he even built our house himself!
How will the Workawayer benefit from a cultural exchange while staying with us? He /she will be involved in our lives (go outside together, hiking, shopping, etc.), including dinners with friends/family. He/she will discover Italian life and culture, and we will discover her/him culture, too. We can share our hobbies with her/him and do them together.Au Pair Help

Help
Each season brings different small tasks that we take care of, but now, with a little one to look after, it’s becoming a bit more challenging.
In general, we’re looking for someone who can help us with our baby Sirio, assist with house cleaning, support us in the garden (sowing, planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting), help process food (drying, cooking, preserving in oil, etc.), and who enjoys spending time with our dog gang — and possibly take them for walks too!Languages

The house is quite spacious and spread over two floors.
Downstairs, there’s the kitchen, a bathroom, and the living room.
Upstairs, there are the bedrooms and another bathroom.
We offer a guest room — it’s a bit small because we also use it to store two wardrobes. The bed is a mattress without a frame or slats.
There is no internet in the house.
We also have a small tavern-style room and a garden.
We mostly follow a vegetarian diet, though we occasionally eat fish and/or meat.
3 meals a day. Mostly vegetarian (including eggs, cheese and sometime meat and fish). What else ...
Garessio is a small town, but it has a bit of everything — especially if you enjoy peace and nature.
Right behind our house, there are trails that lead into the woods, perfect for walking or mountain biking (and there are shops in town where you can rent bikes).
There’s a small gym offering some fitness classes (like yoga, pilates, etc.), a little cinema, a few cafés, and a small climbing gym in Ormea, just 15 minutes away by car.
The sea is only a 45-minute drive away.A little more information
