    Description

I am a lifetime traveler (135+ countries visited and gazillion stories to tell) who finally decided to buy an old house and refurbish it in my beautiful hometown. I rent the house (sleeps up to 28 guests) by night, both for accomodation and also for events like weddings, birthday parties, etc. Querétaro is one of Mexico´s hipest and safest cities. Downtown is a UNESCO World Heritage protected place and the guesthouse is one block away from the main square. Its a beautiful old colonial house that has been turned into a comfortable, inviting and modern place with a small swimming pool, terrace, BBQ area and great common spaces (including a TV room and a piano). We are into people and our customers become our friends. This is why the minimum stay we ask for is 8 weeks and longer stays are preferred. Most of the workawayers who join us usually extend their stay.

NOTE: We only accept workawayers 21 years of age or older.

You will be part of a super friendly work team, where we value human interactions above all. Living in a very privileged location (guesthouse is 1 block from main square) you will have a unique oportunity to experience life in Querétaro. Its easy to meet locals and create life lasting friendships. There are spanish and dancing schools nearby. You will leave the city with a bunch of new friends.

  • Help

    Help

We need general help to run the place. Most of the help is cleaning (yes including toilets). Other tasks are: laundry, watering the plants, help with bookings, taking out the rubbish, walking Frita (most loved dog on earth), checking people in/out and some shopping. Our amazing locally paid staff includes Manuel and Chucho, who make sure our faciities are functioning and in top shape and Alicia and Juliana who give us a hand in deep cleaning before check ins.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have 2 different spaces for accomodating the 3 workawayers that we normally host. The main one is the staff apartment. It has a kitchen with all you need, a living room with a projector (with netflix, hbo, amazon prime, etc). It has a room with 2 twin beds, shower and toilet. Ideally you will share the room with a same sex fellow workawayer or with a previous friend/partner.

The other is the staff room (its small), that has 1 queen bed, shower and toilet.

So usually the workawayers rotate (usually every 2 weeks but always up for adapting arrangements) so everyone gets to sleep alone in the staff room and in the shared apartment.

All workawayers can enjoy all the facilities of the house: swimming pool, terrace with BBQ, piano and TV room, etc (when the house is not rented, of course).

We can proudly say we have the best coffee around. We have a very loved espresso machine that grinds and brews. Unlimited freshly roasted beans are provided on the house.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Walking distance from guesthouse you will find cafés, bars, restaurants, museums, cinemas, parks, markets, supermarkets, etc. Querétaro is a young, vibrant city. We have a bike sharing scheme station 20 steps away from house. So basically you will only need public transportation when going further (uber and cabify both work amazingly well here) Nearby there are other beautiful cities that can be seen in daytrips easily (San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Bernal, Tequisquiapan, etc).

Mexico City is a 3hrs bus ride away. Querétaro´s own small airport has flights to Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Cancun, Mexico City (ridiculously short), Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos.

Querétaro´s Sierra Gorda is an amazing natural destination, off the gringo trail and only 5 hours away.

There are hiking and biking areas quite close to the city.

I have been a traveler all my life so I naturally promote that our workawayers travel around here. I´m flexible towards arranging days off so you can explore more.
