We are a 12 acre succulent and herb farm on one of the smallest and most remote islands on the Isles of Scilly.
The farm is run by Issy who also has 3 self catering cottages. Gareth runs a business away from the farm and we have 2 children who are 4 and nearly 2.
Issy’s parents live on the farm.

You'll need to be friendly, outgoing and hardworking. But in return we'll make sure you enjoy your experience on Bryher! You’ll learn about growing and planting succulents and herbs.
If you have level 2 food hygiene that is a big plus but not essential.
Ideally we'd like people to stay as long as possible (nothing less than a month). If you stay a month we will pay for your travel over here (from Penzance to Scilly by Scillonian ferry and the boat over to Bryher) if you are coming early season we will pay your flight from Lands End to Scilly.
You must speak excellent English.
Bedroom Accommodation with a double bed, wardrobe, shelves, WiFi. We provide towels and bedding. A small living room and kitchenette with fridge, small oven, dining table, sofas. Its in a converted old shed. It does have a glass/perspex roof so when it rains you do hear it (I loved it when we lived in it). We are continually told we undersell the accommodation and it's really cosy.
Due to our young family we provide you with a budgeted account at the local shop although we invite you along to lunches and dinners as often as we can. You can also help yourself to the herbs, tomatoes, fruit from the farm.
Bryher is a very remote island off the coast of Cornwall. It has stunning scenery and is perfect for anyone who wants to see what it's like to live in a small community. 86 people live there and it is virtually crime free. The children go to school by boat.
Scilly has stunning wildlife, crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, vibrant water sports. If you want to learn to paddleboard kitesurf Gareth's happy to teach you after your work is done! Bryher is perfect for running as well.
Most of our workawayers are big fans of beach combing. They've found vintage beads, shark tags from America, china etc. Scilly is the last stop until America so there are always interesting things to find. On super low tides you can walk to the neighbouring island of Tresco or collect razor clams/cockles to eat.
On the island there’s the opportunity to take part in community work, we have a weekly yoga class, there’s a young social scene with lots of seasonal staff or peace and quiet if you want it.
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
More than two
We will try and help you to get as much from Scilly as possible. We have a kayak/paddle boards you can borrow as well as wetsuits. (If you're brave!) we head off boating most Sunday’s and you’re welcome to come too (even if you want to go off on your own and explore- we won’t be offended!)
We can teach you about growing succulents and herbs.
Scilly is a quiet, chilled out place but is a totally different experience to the rest of England.
We are looking for a couple to make the most of their stay and enjoy the experience of living a crime free existence.
There is also lots of opportunity to do paid work on the island.
Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week
