We are a 12 acre succulent and herb farm on one of the smallest and most remote islands on the Isles of Scilly. We also have holidays cottages and a fudge business. The Isles of Scilly are 28 miles south west of mainland Cornwall.

The farm is run by Issy who also has 3 self catering cottages. Gareth runs a business away from the farm and we have 2 children who are 4 and 2.

Issy’s parents live on the farm.

In July/August we need lots of help with fudge, picking, weeding, watering, helping with markets, mowing, gardening, occasionally helping with cleaning holiday lets etc

From November we are going to be embarking on a big project to reclad a wooden holiday cottage and build a small balcony.

We are looking for a couple who are experienced with building/carpentry. We will also be clearing parts of the land to improve the garden.

In January/February we’ll be doing lots of painting, Cottage repairs, gardening etc

We’ve had great success with our winter workawayers and some have returned on multiple occasions.

Ideally we'd like people to stay as long as possible (nothing less than a month). If you stay a month we will pay for your travel over here (from Lands End to Scilly by small plane and the boat over to Bryher).

    You must speak excellent English.

Scilly is a quiet, chilled out place but is a totally different experience to the rest of England.

We are looking for a couple to make the most of their stay and enjoy the experience of living a crime free existence.

Summers are busy and fun filled with activities, beach fun, boating etc. Scilly is a very customer focused place. As you work lots of people will stop and chat to you!

Winters can be very remote on Bryher, there are occasional boats off island but certainly isn’t the island hopping experience you get in the summer. But it’s very quiet and relaxing.

In winter There are usually yoga and badminton groups and there’s a small gym you can use.

  • Accommodation

In July/August a converted shed with your own bedroom, living room/kitchen and shared shower room. It’s basic although Workawayers say i undersell the accommodation.

In winters a holiday Cottage with super king or single beds, WiFi, tv, shower room, kitchen, sitting room etc.

Due to our young family we provide you with a budgeted account at the local shop although we invite you along to lunches and dinners as often as we can. You can also help yourself to the herbs, etcfrom the farm.

In winter we tend to all eat together on a Sunday and it would be great if you joined us

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Bryher is a very remote island off the coast of Cornwall. It has stunning scenery and is perfect for anyone who wants to see what it's like to live in a small community. 86 people live there and it is virtually crime free. The children go to school by boat.

Scilly has stunning wildlife, crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, vibrant water sports. If you want to learn to paddleboard kitesurf Gareth's happy to teach you after your work is done! Bryher is perfect for running as well.

Most of our workawayers are big fans of beach combing. They've found vintage beads, shark tags from America, china etc. Scilly is the last stop until America so there are always interesting things to find. On super low tides you can walk to the neighbouring island of Tresco or collect razor clams/cockles to eat.

On the island there’s the opportunity to take part in community work.
