Hi there, I am Manuela and thats something about our place
We run a small hotel, a German "Gasthof", in southern Germany close to Oberstdorf. Maybe you have heard about the region according to several winter sport competitions as ski jumping or Nordic Combination.
We - that are Manuela and Wolfgang, a 57 and 60 year old couple that started to run the hotel 20 years ago. Since we started in 2004 we have young people to work with us. Our team is completed by Kathrin and Fabian, who do most of the kitchen work. Additionally we have - during main season - up to 5 or 6 workawayers helping us with serving our guests. And there is also a dog named Franzi, our young Doodle.
In our restaurant we offer regional/ typical food, cooked according to old recipes and we brew our own beer. We can welcome up to 35 persons in our hotel - mostly couples or families and some small groups. Our guests come to our region - the Allgäu - for hiking, biking, skiing and several winter activities.
In the evening our guests can just relax by some good food or drinks.

Please notice that you need a working Holiday Visa (or kind of that) or a European Citizenship for working with us. We will pay you for working with us. We think about 6 hours per day, five days a week, mostly in the morning or evening. So you have time to do some hiking all year round or skiing in winter, as well as looking around the Allgäuer Alps, visit the ski jumping areas, learn about the living in former times in some small museums. On your days off there is the possibility to go to Kempten or even to Munich by train.
If you like, we will help you to learn German, even if the best way to learn will be practicing every day.Host offers payment in line with the minimum wage

Help
We are looking for someone who helps us with the morning and/or evening service. You should take orders, prepare the drinks, serve drinks and food. The dirty dishes need to be done and rooms have to be cleaned. No worries - this has not to be done by one person. Therefore we look for more than one workawayer. We also need someone to clean the guest rooms.

During your time with us you will have your own or a shared room with private bathroom (maximum two persons in a room) Free WiFi is available.
Breakfast you can have from our buffet, sometimes we prepare some warm meal in the afternoon for all of us and eat together. But you can even use our kitchen to cook (at special times). The same in the evening.
Behind the house there is a small garden, that you can use for relaxing. We live in the Hotel as well.
What else ...
In your time off you can go for hiking, biking oder skiing. The next train station is in Fischen/Allgäu wich is 4km from our place, the next bus stop is just 200m from the hotel. By bus or/and train you can go to the next small cities - Oberstdorf, Sonthofen or Kempten - and you can even reach Munich within two hours by train.
In our region there are also several traditional events during the year.
