I stayed with Montse’s family for one month. This was my first Workaway experience and I had a beautiful time living in Conil with this beautiful family. I felt safe from the moment I arrived and I quickly got comfortable living there. The house is truly beautiful, with a big garden, a pool and chickens and I had my own room. A lot has happened
… read more during the month I was there, but a memorable moment was the birth of two baby chicks from the incubator. It was beautiful to see how Marco and Carla, who are both very active, playful and caring, took care of the chicks from day one. My main tasks involved preparing breakfast for the kids, driving them to school, prepare lunch and be with them to play, speak english and also give them some german lessons. But I also had free time that I spent mostly in El Palmar taking surf classes, in the library in Conil studying and exploring the other towns and cities in the area. I was free to use the car almost any time and this allowed me to do a lot of things and be independent in my free time. The communication with Montse was great, everything was planned on Sunday so that I could schedule my week and have a clear idea of my duties and my free time. The experience overall was great and I truly enjoyed living with Montse’s and Ruben’s family.

Ari has been one of the many aupais we have had at home, but she has really left a mark on us. She is an active person, but calm and very patient. We have loved having her at home. … read more helpful, and patient, and a very warm person. Her children, Marco and Carla, are a pleasure to teach. They are great kids, with tons of energy, and creativity, wonderful sense of humour, and easy to communicate with (although, outside of our classes they prefer to speak Spanish so they need encouragement, and stimulus to open up). As a professional teacher I am very glad I got to teach them for this short time. Also - Conil de la Frontera is a true, breathtaking paradise, that I will definitely come back to one day. The town is beautiful and quaint, beach is wide, and clean, and I attended surfing classes in a nearby town - El Palmar. I recommend to try it:D

My time at the House of Monste and Ruben was so nice! I stayed there only for two weeks, but i left so welcome from second one. The stay was short term, because I left my other Workaway earlier than planed and Montse searched in the same time for someone. The communication was super easy and friendly.

… read more from them. Montse is such a great woman and mother! Full of love. The Children, Marco and Carla are very playful, happy and creative. It took every day a little bit of time to get in touch with them, but if we started to play outside everything was fine. Marco showed me his little garden and was a great assistant for my online yoga classes =) They tried to teach me spanish, but decieded i am an hopeless case ;)
I didnt spend a lot of time with Ruben, because he worked for the time of my staying further away, but he was very polite and friendly the time we met. The House of Monste and Ruben is so beautiyful and in a very quiete place, with a huge garden. It was super clean and Monste asked every time when she got shopping, what she should bring to me. I felt like a famliy member fot the two weeks.
My "work" was it to make breakfast for the kinds, drove them with my car to the shool, made lunch for them and picked them up from scool or sports. A little bit of healping in the household and playing with Marco and Carla.
I had my own room and a lot of freetime in between my work. After a short communication with Montse, how the day will look like, i had enough time to go to the coast, went surfing and met friends.
I was a pleasure to spend my time with this lovely spanish family and to get a look into their life. Thanks a lot for this experience!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I had a wonderful experience staying with Montse, Ruben & their two wonderful children! I was an AuPair for their family for 6 weeks in May of 2023. This was my first workaway experience and I am so happy that it was with such a kind and loving family. Marco & Carla are so active and playful and love spending time outdoors! The expected hours and
… read more duties were definitely fair, and I had plenty of time to explore the south of Spain! I had only practiced driving a manual car a few times before arriving, and Ruben took the time to practice with me and drive the children until I felt comfortable. Both Montse & Ruben were so patient and kind to me! You do have to push the children a bit to engage with you, as they would much rather prefer to speak in Spanish, but I learned so much from them all and loved getting them to open up to me! I would help the children get ready for school and drive them there, then had a few hours of free time, and arrived back at the school in the afternoon to pick the kids up. I would prepare them lunch and then run and play with them until the parents were finished with work (a few hours). During the day if I had time, or in the evening if I did not, I would do some light housecleaning such as vacuuming the floor and watering the plants. I was able to work on my Spanish, learn lots about Spanish food and the culture, and really could not have asked for anything more.
