Description
Hello friend! My name is Teva and I live in the beautiful forests of British Columbia, Canada. I love to find joy in little moments, and I have a passion for exploring nature, creating art, and connecting with people :)
Currently, I’m embarking on an exciting 5 month solo adventure across South East Asia! I have always dreamed of coming here, and I’m so grateful that I was able to fund this trip independently. I feel that travel has the potential to completely change your life for the better - it’s scary to be in a new environment, but I’m lucky to be here and learn about myself as I go. I’m looking forward to meeting a community of beautiful people across the world ❤️
I’ve just graduated high school and will be starting my studies in university very soon. I love academics so I’m very excited to start my studies! Until then, my focus is to challenge my identity and grow as a young person. I want to find confidence in who I am and get even more excited about who I am becoming!
In terms of my hobbies and routine, I like to spend my time adventuring and learning. I love to cook, especially East Asian cuisine, and my favourite thing is to try new recipes. Reading is one of my favourite hobbies and I almost always have at least 3 books in rotation. On nice days, I love to go outside and hike or walk in nature, then find a cozy spot and paint with watercolour. I’m a musician and played the trumpet for over 10 years and love jazz a lot. I mostly love to sing, and am learning to play the ukulele at the moment. I have much more to share, but I guess we’ll have to get to know each other in person!
Some things you may want to know before I stay with you:
I grew up in a family of 5 and am the youngest of 3 sisters. In our home, we’ve had a few dogs and many cats over the years so I am very comfortable with taking care of these animals.
Also, I really love children and am happy to take care of them. I spent four months this year working at a summer camp where I supervised and took care of children overnight as young as 5 and as old as 17. Working with kids is something I really love to do!
In terms of cleaning, in my work and at home I do lots of cleaning and am happy to maintain a nice space. I have also been cooking for my family for over 6 years, and I really enjoy it. Finally, I am happy to help with physical tasks as I am quite tall and like to do strength training! Meaning I can lift heavy things and help with more intense work if needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read my description. If you are interested in getting to know me, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

More details about your skills
I have a strong background in caring for and supporting others, especially children and families.
Through my work as a Camp Counsellor and Outdoor Education Facilitator, I’ve gained experience looking after children aged 5–17, including overnight supervision, first aid, and creating a safe, positive environment. I’m responsible, calm, and comfortable stepping in where help is needed.
I’ve also volunteered in a hospital, which taught me empathy, patience, and how to support people who may be unwell or vulnerable. Last year, I volunteered teaching English to children, so I have hands-on experience helping kids learn and practice English in a fun, encouraging way, and I’m happy to continue doing so.
At home, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with different dishes, keeping shared spaces clean and organised, and caring for animals. I’m attentive and supportive when loved ones are sick or need extra care.
I value open communication, respect personal boundaries, and enjoy being part of a shared household. I’m open-minded, reliable, happy to receive feedback, and genuinely excited to learn, help out, and connect with the people I stay with.
