  • Description

Hello! My name is [Your Name], and I’m originally from Japan but currently living in New York, USA.
I have been based in the United States for five years. I grew up surrounded by nature. I speak Japanese and English, and I’m currently hoping to learn Spanish.

What I’m Working Toward & What I Want to Learn
I am currently taking an online permaculture course and working toward certification. My long-term goal is to live sustainably and deepen my knowledge of ecological living. I also own a traditional Japanese farmhouse and forest land where there is no running water, toilet, or gas, so the skills I learn through Workaway will be invaluable for creating a self-sufficient lifestyle in that environment.
I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute my existing skills while learning from others. I’m motivated, hardworking, and truly excited to grow through hands-on experience.

I’m especially interested in learning about:
Sustainable and harmonious living with wildlife (permaculture practices)
    Food-growing skills for home gardens
Water systems (toilets, drainage, hot water, water storage, etc.)
    Forest ecology and natural cycles
    Wood-fired and off-grid living
    Compost systems
    Basic construction and small-structure building
Self-management practices such as meditation, yoga, and jiu-jitsu
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I would love to support your project while learning from your lifestyle and environment!

    My Experience
I was raised in Tokushima, a rural area in Japan with mountains, rivers, and the ocean, so living close to nature feels natural and grounding for me.
For about nine years—both in Japan and in the U.S.—I have worked in childcare as a babysitter and preschool teacher.
While working at a nursery school in Japan, I helped children grow vegetables and fruits in the garden. In the U.S., I have been involved in home gardening and composting to build soil.
I would like to develop skills outside of childcare.
My husband and I DIY-built our own camper and traveled across the U.S., visiting 44 states. I love working with natural materials, especially wood, and I’m always curious to learn more about traditional and sustainable craftsmanship.
Although I’m grateful for my childcare background, I’m now looking to shift toward learning skills that are directly connected to sustainable, self-sufficient living.
