Description
If you're ready to accommodate an outgoing, ever smiling and energetic young individual, then that would be me.
My name is Simon and I'm born and raised in a small forrest town with 500 inhabitants north of Copenhagen. I'm an outdoor maniac and a sports enthusiast, however there is no need to underestimate the coziness which is a big part of Danish/Scandy culture. I enjoy a challenge whether it is physical or psychological. In sports, I especially enjoy cycling, running, volleyball, tennis, ultimate, and snowboarding, and as of this winter I’m a full-time snowboard instructor in Sun Peaks, Canada.
From August 2024 to March 2025 I was working at a private school in Denmark as a substitute-teacher with kids from 0th to 9th grade. It taught me the importance of a good learning environment.
Previous Workaways:
From March to June 2025 I was doing Workaway in Southern France at a b&b, hitchhiking on the weekends and exploring French culture. In June I worked in Germany on a bio farm near Wuppertal.
In the summer of 2026 I will start my bachelor in Anthropology at The University of Copenhagen, and hopefully after that I want to get a masters degree in environmental development. As of this moment however I am forever grateful that I can focus 100% on meeting new people, learning about other cultures, and hopefully experience the beautiful nature of Canada, which I love.

A couple of years ago, I set myself a goal that I wanted to learn French, so naturally, I went to France. After 3 months in France and after a lot of lessons and self-studying, I can now consider myself fluent in the French language and I love it. I want to keep speaking French as often as possible. In the future I would like to be able to teach in Danish, English, French and German.

More details about your skills
Let me start by saying that I'm almost certain that I can do every task you will have me do with the right guiding and directing, as I am a qualified easy-learner (:
I would consider teaching and instructing as one of my strongest skills. Working as a snowboard instructor, both my parents being teachers and me having worked several months as a substitute teacher might have had a say in that matter.
That being said, I am not afraid to use my hands to build or repair stuff either. I want to be the handyman that can fix everything. I learned a few things working side by side with French carpenters, painters and electricians in while working for the woman who owned the b&b.
It is in my interest to create a home out of a van in between my study’s and go explore Europe in it and probably work as a snowboard instructor in the Alps a couple of winters as well.
On the boarder between interests and skills agriculture is worth mentioning. While I was working on the farm in Germany I harvested hundreds of salads, planted over a thousand pumpkins and took care of some lovely pigs and I enjoyed it a lot. I would be very keen to learn about self-sufficiency, and eco-farming.
