Hi! My name is Rosie, I'm 26 and I'm from England and I'm a medical student.

In 2022-2023 I spent five beautiful months travelling and volunteering throughout Mexico. I visited 15 cities/towns and took part in four different volunteering roles. Some of my greatest memories and closest friendships I found through volunteering! Mexico will always hold a special place in my heart.

I'm in my second year at medical school now and seeking new opportunities to volunteer during school breaks. I believe this is the best way to travel to get to know the local culture, find purpose and make connections with other like-minded people.

I'm a hard-working, sociable and kind person. I try to find positivity and humour in most situations, and I'm always smiling. Of course, my number one passion is medicine, but I have lots of interests. I enjoy learning about psychology and spirituality, spending time in nature, with animals, and listening to music. As much as I love spending time with others, I also deeply appreciate my own company and consider myself very independent.

I'm hoping to find an exciting new volunteer opportunity with kind, welcoming people who share my passion for exploring new cultures. Although I've got experience in and enjoy hostel and customer service roles, I'm always looking to widen my skillset and learn new things.

During my time in Mexico I completed four volunteering experiences in different hostels/airbnbs. I’ve worked on reception, in hostel bars, in the kitchen and housekeeping. I received excellent feedback from my hosts and make great connections with fellow volunteers.

My professional experience in the UK includes:
- 5 years working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital
- 2 years working behind a bar (including cocktail making)
- 2 years working in a customer service

I know a little bit of Spanish from my previous travels, but I definitely need more practice!
