Description
Hi there, I'm Oscar! Despite having spent my whole life living in cities (grew up in London, and then attended university in Liverpool), I have a deep connection with the outdoors. As such, I spend a lot of time in nature; volunteering at my local community gardens and often leading hikes for my friends walking group.
Alongside hiking I love to stay active in other ways, often trying new sports, swimming in the sea, and chasing my family dogs around the garden. Community is incredibly important to me, and I love to engage with those around me and put myself in positions to meet new people.
Last year, in an effort to correct my lack of musical ability, I joined a samba drumming group and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made - and have since performed at some music festivals and at Notting Hill carnival!

More details about your skills
Digital - having grown up as a teenager when the iPhone was released I've become very accustomed to using technology in most aspects of my life. As such, I'm the unofficial IT expert for my family and spend much of my Christmas holidays troubleshooting phone/laptop/TV issues for my extended family members.
Gardening/growing - living in London has meant I have minimal space to grow (only enough room for a tomato plant, cucumber plant, and some herbs), but having volunteered every 2 weeks at my local community gardens (Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses) I have picked up many fundamental skills to grow, harvest, and care for plants (edible and non-edible).
Manual labour/DIY - having lived away from my parents for the past 7 years of my life I have learnt how to do many basic DIY tasks, from painting to unblocking sinks, to building shelves from scrap wood. I completely self-taught (mostly from YouTube and my peers) but always keen to learn more!
Pets - growing up my family have had dogs, goldfish and guinea pigs, and so am capable at looking after a range of household pets. I've not worked on a farm, but would love to learn to care for livestock.
Corporate - having worked in the corporate world for the past 3 years, I have become confident and managing and delivering projects, communicating clearly and effectively, managing small budgets, and completing some basic data analysis.
Cooking - I cook for myself every day, avoiding pre-cooked meals where possible. I like to experiment with new cuisines and ingredients.
Literacy - I am fluent in English, and have good handwriting and can type quickly :)
