I'm Maya, 26 and currently solo travelling around New Zealand! I'm looking for as many new experiences and adventures as possible and hoping to find meaningful connections with people from all walks of life :)

I find joy in reading, painting and being in nature, and I'd be especially happy helping out with outdoor activities such as gardening and animal care. I also love cooking and baking.

My main skills revolve around childcare, as I've worked with children frequently over the years, from babysitting my younger brother and his friends, to volunteering as a teaching assistant in primary schools, to being an au pair in Berlin for a year.

I also grew up around dogs and cats and would consider myself very capable taking care of them. I've never worked on a farm/with larger animals before (aside from helping out at my friend's farm as a teenager), but as a hardworking person who loves learning new things, as well as a lover of all animals, I know I would pick up the work relatively easily.

Since a child I have loved cooking/baking and experimenting with new recipes, and this love only increased when I went vegetarian at age 10 and starting cooking all of my own meals. I'm very passionate about making things from scratch, including breads, jams, pickles etc.

Throughout my childhood I spent a lot of time at my mom's allotment, helping at every stage of the gardening process - planting, nurturing, harvesting etc. This is something I still find so much joy in to this day and over the years I have grown many smaller plants on my windowsill including bell peppers, tomatoes and herbs.

Though I don't have any specific experience relating to building or repair work, I'm an incredibly proactive person and find taking initiative second nature. I'm also very committed once I've started a job and will hold myself to the highest standard possible.
