Hello, my name is Darcy :) Im looking to explore new places and pick up some wisdom from people along the way. I really like to learn and listen to tales about local culture and folklaw. I love people and nature, connecting with both of these brings me a lot of happiness. I also love being creative through art, music, dancing and writing. I studied art therapy at university, and am very interested in psychology and philosophy (so love a big nerdy chat about the cosmos haha). I'm friendly and easy to chat to, and always down for a wonder somewhere.

I pride myself on being a warm and friendly presence, which I feel is a good skill for teamwork projects. I worked as a mental health mentor and as a coach for students, and also in customer facing retail jobs, so I am good at communicating with new people. I also studied art therapy at university, where we did training on how to make people feel as comfortable and as at ease as possible. I also have worked with children.

I worked as a landscaper for a short time, and love gardening. I would say I am still at a training level but I am absolutely looking to develop my skills and knowledge through experience as I am very passionate about it and I enjoy it so much! This job was outdoors so I am used to working through differing weather conditions. I am hard working and relatively strong, so will always be up for any tasks that require physical work. I also have a very good knowledge on indoor houseplants.

I enjoy cooking so would be happy to prepare meals for people. I have past job experience working in a restaurant and I cook everyday for myself.

I also have experience in cleaning and organising from many different job roles, and like to stay organised in my own time so can happily do cleaning tasks.

I can paint and draw, and also play the drums- which may be relevant skills for any creative projects that you may need help with. Id like to think have an artistic eye, and love decorating and arranging things to make a room look nice. also means im down for a silly little jam and/or sing song hehe.

Overall I am very keen to learn, work hard and try my best!

What else ...

I recently started learning Poi, which is a type of dancing flow art. It is very fun and i love teaching some tricks to others! I love fantasy films like the dark crystal and lord of the rings. Also really like spooky films, id say the blair witch project is my fav! I also love long drives with people (I cant drive but i love being a passenger haha). A big fan of wild swimming and nature walks, and am always keen for a group arts and crafts night.
