Description
Hi hosts!
My name is Leah, and I am currently working in Banff Canada, and travelling for a month in November in Chile!
I love exploring new, beautiful places. I am really drawn to adventure, and I often find comfort in the unknown - scary as it may be sometimes. I have a long list of things I love to do, but I am especially interested in animal care, spending time outdoors, hiking, farm work, gardening, and baking.
That is a little bit about me! Thank you so much for your time, and I hope you have a lovely day!
All my best,
Leah -

More details about your skills
I have a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health Sciences and I am passionate about animal welfare. I have knowledge of all sorts of animals, like dogs, cats, horses, and cows. I have much experience volunteering at animal shelters - taking the dogs on walks, feeding them, and most importantly, giving them the love and care they deserve! I find this work to be extremely rewarding, and something I plan to do much more of in the future.
I have previously worked at a mountain lodge where I took on many responsibilities. I cleaned the lodges when guests left, I managed the reservation systems and answered the phone and emails. I also worked on maintaining the property in regards to lawn care and gardening. This job was highly rewarding, as I learnt a diverse range of skills that I can apply to many different jobs.
I have worked in four restaurants, giving me quite a bit of experience in the culinary department. I worked as both a line cook and a baker - and I love both positions. Working in such a fast-paced environment, I learnt that I work very well under high pressure. My mom is an amazing cook, and I have grown up learning how to make good food. I love to share meals with people, and cooking has always been a way for me to build new connections with friends and family.
Other relevant experiences that I have had in various fields:
I worked as a garbage picker-upper for one summer, cleaning up parks and grounds after festivals. In addition, I have worked as a general laborer at a warehouse, cleaning up, handling tools and materials, and working in production assembly. I was an assistant referee in soccer for four years, where I learnt how to communicate with and organize coaches, parents, and children. I babysat for well over five years of my life, so I am very experienced and enjoy working with children. I volunteered at senior homes for a total of three years, where I kept residents company, took them to activities that their homes were hosting, and even brought my dogs with me for some animal companion therapy! -
