  • Description

    Hello! ☺️

We’re Julia (British) and Kate (Australian) — two au pairs turned travel buddies who met in Auckland and decided to swap routine for the open road. We’re currently travelling New Zealand in our self-contained van, chasing meaningful experiences, good people, and the kind of memories you don’t get from a checklist.

Between us, we bring a strong background in both healthcare and childcare. Julia is a registered nurse in the UK, and Kate is a student nurse in Australia, so we’re calm under pressure, highly responsible, and naturally caring people. Our au pair experience has strengthened our ability to connect with children, support busy families, and adapt quickly to new environments.

Kate grew up on a farm in Australia, so she’s no stranger to early mornings, animals, and getting her hands dirty. We both absolutely love animals and would be more than happy helping with anything from feeding and cleaning to full farm routines. We’re equally comfortable entertaining kids, helping around the house, or getting stuck into outdoor work.

We’re really drawn to sustainability and simple living — learning how to grow food, care for the land, and live more intentionally. Whether it’s helping in a garden, learning eco-building, milking cows, picking fruit, or even something completely new like sailing, we’re all in. We’re not afraid of hard work and genuinely enjoy learning practical, hands-on skills.

Outside of that, we’re trying to slow things down a little from our busy healthcare lives — getting into yoga, spending time in nature, and appreciating the small things. We’re easygoing, positive, and tidy, and we value good communication and being respectful in someone else’s space. More than anything, we’re here to connect — to learn from different people, cultures, and ways of life, and to contribute wherever we can. We’re excited to get involved, help out, and be part of something meaningful during our travels.

Looking forward to meeting you ☀️
