Description
Nice to meet you! I'm Glenn, an adventure seeker with a keenness for meeting new people and making friends :)
I've got a positive, can-do attitude and like to muck in and help with whatever needs doing.
I'm looking for some work and to become part of your community. I want to bring a positive energy and for us all to enjoy being with one another.
Open to working on farms, smallholdings, hostels, teaching English, and maybe something else too. Especially keen for workaways with more than 2 workawayers so there are lots of opportunities for friendships to develop.
I want to 'slow travel' the world while I pick up the skills for community building, animal care and permaculture. After that, I hope to settle down in England and grow my own food and look after some animals. I hope to volunteer to help people to live out their dream.
I injured my back in a car accident 3 years ago and it shifted my outlook on life. It made me want to see the world and connect more deeply with others. Prior to the accident I played a lot of video games. While being part of your community, I hope to play lots of real life games, share music, poetry, dance, and - most importantly - have a laugh!
My hobbies include; cooking, baking (Rocky roads anyone?) cycling, running (doing the Bath Half 2025), spirituality, football (Come on you Gunners!!), animals (cats #1), nature, and sustainable living.
I'm 3 years on workaway now, and have so far...
- helped refurbish a castle in France,
- looked after children and taught English in Turkey
- worked at a hostel in Thailand
- cuddled and cleaned cats in Egypt
I love this workaway model of working 5 hours a day and can't wait for the next opportunity
Hope to hear back from you! :)Interests

More details about your skills
My biggest skill is my passion for getting stuck in, showing initiative and helping wherever I can. I think having a smile on your face, positive energy and a can-do attitude can do such a long way. Anyway, if I can't find the answer i'm sure the internet or the latest AI bot can! Or hopefully you can help me :)
What am I most excited to share? I've got more than one trick up my sleeve... dont worry!
- Teaching English (I enjoy this. Did it for 3 months in Turkey last year, and at University I helped teach Asian postgrad students for over a year)
- Community management (this is my thing! Can I help ensure the vibe around the place is good, everyone is happy, and problems are resolved before they escalate)
- Looking after, and entertaining, the children (Did this with a 2yr old and a 4yr old on a farm in Turkey, also love spending time with children in my extended family!)
- Computer skills (the internet can do everything these days! Maybe I can help with social media or video production)
- Business skills (such as Marketing, Strategy, Sales, Branding) - recently graduated with a degree in Business. Long conversations about your organisation is fun for me!
- Driving (Got a UK driving license and have lots of experience with smaller vehicles)
I am also keen to learn new skills , especially gardening, permaculture, and looking after animalsAge
