    Description

We are located in the very middle of Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province. We live in a large restored 1860 heritage home in the country on a large property. Arnold is the President of the non-profit, Farmers Bank of Rustico Museum, a National Historic where we interpret the history of the French Acadian culture. There's always lots to do around here!

Arnold has been hosting visitors to Prince Edward Island for more than 45 years. He recently retired from the hospitality business in Cavendish where he and his sister operated a 30-room motel, and where they still have a rental cottage. As well as an historian, he's involved in many community projects, including theatre, costuming, antiques, gardening, entertaining, etc.

Guests are always welcome to travel with us when we leave the property.
The closest village to us is Hunter River, about 10km (6 miles) with banking, pharmacy, etc. and the closet town is Kensington at 15km (9 miles) away with even more services. Also, we are 22km (13 miles) from the famous Cavendish.

RURAL TRANSIT, LIMITED. As we are in a rural setting setting, there is limited public transportation as you have to get the bus in either Hunter River or Kensington. Here's the schedule

BICYCLE PROVIDED. We will provide a bicycle to our guests.
Within 2km of our house is the famous "Confederation Trail" for walking or cycling - it travels through the middle of the Island on the old railroad trail. You can get to Hunter River safely on that trail in about 30 minutes.
