Description

Hello lovely people of the world! My name is Stephan Carlson and I am a 28 year old student of the world. I began traveling with my family at a young age and took my first solo trip at 16. Since then I have travelled much of Europe, Central America and Southeast Asia. I have discovered that when outside of my comfort zone, in unknown parts of the world, I feel truly alive and myself, and meet people who become my brothers and sisters.

I have had four Workaway experiences so far, ranging from a Buddhist community in Thailand, medicine community in Costa Rica, natural building community in Oregon, and a small farm stay in Vietnam. these experiences were often the deepest and most meaningful part of my trips, making me realize being apart of greater visions of ways to live are the best seeds to water inside of myself.

A few things about me are that I have been a vegetarian since the age of 10 because I hate to see animals and the environment hurt in any way. Also it is very important for me to work towards good connection to earth in all the aspects of my life.

building: 8 years building experience in many different disciplines: from high end custom home building, natural building, treehouse, woodworking, electrical, plumbing, etc.
animal care: experience with horses, chickens, cows
farming: have worked/volunteered on 6 different organic, permaculture, animal farms. really enjoy this type of work.
cooking: I can whip up good food!
