    Description

We have a language and training school and community in Villavicencio, Colombia, where education, culture, and international exchange come together. For more than 20 years, we have worked with students who want to improve their English and open new opportunities for their future.

Our students range from kids and teenagers to young professionals who are motivated to connect with the world. Many of them dream about traveling, studying abroad, or working in international environments. For this reason, interacting with volunteers from different countries becomes a powerful and inspiring experience for them.

Learning English here goes beyond traditional classes. We believe language is best learned through conversation, cultural exchange, creativity, and real human connection. Volunteers help make this possible by participating in activities such as conversation clubs, games, workshops, and cultural sharing with students.

Our team is made up of more than 10 teachers and collaborators who work together to create a positive, supportive, and energetic learning environment. Volunteers quickly become part of our community and are welcomed not only by the school but also by our wider local network.

We are located in Villavicencio, a vibrant and sunny city known as the gateway to Colombia’s beautiful Llanos region. The city offers a mix of urban life, nature, and traditional culture, with great food, music, and landscapes. From here, volunteers can experience authentic Colombian culture while living in a comfortable and friendly environment.

For us, hosting volunteers is about much more than helping in the classroom. It is about building friendships, sharing cultures, and creating meaningful experiences that stay with people long after their time in Colombia.

Many of our volunteers arrive as travelers and leave as part of the family.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Villavicencio offers volunteers a unique opportunity to experience authentic Colombian culture outside of the typical tourist destinations.

The city is located about 3–4 hours from Bogotá, making it easy to visit the capital while living in a more relaxed and welcoming environment.

    The region is famous for:

    • Llanos culture and traditions
    • Joropo music and dancing
    • Local gastronomy such as mamona (traditional slow-roasted beef)
    • Beautiful landscapes and nature activities
    • Warm and welcoming people

Through your time with us, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn about Colombian culture and daily life
    • Improve your Spanish through real interaction
    • Experience local traditions, music, and food
    • Participate in occasional nature trips or cultural activities
    • Build friendships with students, teachers, and other volunteers

For many volunteers, their time here becomes much more than a volunteer experience — it becomes a meaningful cultural exchange and a chance to truly experience Colombia.

  • Help

    Help

We are looking for friendly, open-minded, and positive people who enjoy cultural exchange and interacting with students. The main way volunteers support our community is by helping students practice English through conversation and cultural activities.

Many of our students are eager to connect with the world and gain confidence speaking English. Volunteers help create a relaxed, engaging environment where students can practice naturally.

    Typical activities may include:

    • Joining conversation clubs
    • Playing language games with students
    • Sharing stories about your culture, country, or travel experiences
    • Supporting teachers during interactive activities
    • Occasionally helping with small workshops or cultural presentations

You do not need to be a professional teacher. What matters most is your enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to interact with students.

Volunteers usually help around 3–4 hours per day, 5 days per week, leaving plenty of time to explore the city, travel, and experience Colombian culture.

If you enjoy meeting new people, sharing ideas, and helping others learn through conversation and cultural exchange, you will fit perfectly into our community.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Villavicencio is a vibrant and welcoming city where volunteers can enjoy both urban life and nature. The city offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, shopping malls, movie theaters, and cultural spaces where you can relax and explore during your free time. The food scene is diverse, with both international cuisine and traditional Colombian dishes that reflect the unique culture of the Llanos region.

Very close to the school, you will find spaces for wellness and recreation such as yoga studios, parks, and cafés. Just outside the city, there are many opportunities for outdoor activities, including rivers, waterfalls, trekking trails, horseback riding, and rafting. The region is also known for its music, traditional dance (joropo), and warm, welcoming people.

Volunteers often use their free time to explore nearby towns, enjoy nature, experience local culture, or travel to other parts of Colombia, such as Bogotá, which is about 3–4 hours away.

We believe volunteering should be more than just helping; it should also be a meaningful cultural experience where you can discover new places, meet amazing people, and create unforgettable memories.

We love sharing our daily activities, student experiences, and cultural moments with our global community.

    Profile photo of Simón

    Simón (8 years)

Simón is the energetic and friendly spirit of our home. He’s curious, playful, and always moving around the house like he’s on a small adventure. When he’s not exploring or running around, he’s usually looking for the next cozy spot to nap or someone willing to cuddle him. Simón also takes food very seriously; he never misses a meal and will happily remind you when it’s time to eat.

    Profile photo of Lulú

    Lulú (5 years)

Lulú is our spoiled little queen. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, usually watching from a safe distance like a tiny supervisor. But once she decides you’re trustworthy, she turns into a cuddle expert and happily accepts pets and affection. She loves calm environments, soft spots to nap, and being admired for the elegant lady she is.
