  • Description

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at our profile.

We are a couple traveling globally and looking for opportunities to learn and grow our knowledge of self sufficient ways of being!

    Sara's Bio:

Hey there! This is Sara (Setsu).

As a dual U.S and Japanese citizen, I had the opportunity to grow up in two very different cultures, something that has fueled my desire to meet new people and discover new places.

I work remotely as a studio manager for artists, and enjoy providing administrative (and hands on!) support for creative projects and individuals.

My skills include gardening and plant care, animal care, event programming and coordination, project management, marketing + business advocacy (focus on sustainable business, ethics, and the new world paradigm), grant and pitch writing, photography, video editing, merchandise management, natural fabric crafting (dyeing, design) and more!

Hobbies include local and sustainable foraging, observation of ecosystems and biomes, hiking, music, wildcrafting, cooking, restoring old furniture/repairing things, floral design, interior arrangement, reading (I have digital resources and books on Permaculture / Herbalism that I am happy to share!) and of course traveling and trying new things :)

I am passionate about land stewardship, Bioregionalism, reconnecting with TEK (Traditional Ecological Knowledge), breaking away from consumerism and capitalism / exponential growth models.

I have always felt a very strong connection to nature. My first memory is of me holding a leaf, and observing all of the colors in wonder. My mother (a preschool outdoor education specialist) taught me the joys of gardening from a young age, and I often help her with tasks in the school garden and raised beds when I visit my home in Southern California. I continue to nurture my passion for plants through my studies in Ayurveda and herbalism, caring for my many houseplants, and connecting with nature as often as possible.

A life goal of mine is to build a house and live off of the land, and my hope is to gain the experience and knowledge required to make this dream a reality. I participated in a workaway exchange in Oct 2020 in Japan and enjoyed it a lot and am looking forward to exploring more!

Just like our bodies have the natural intelligence to heal, the earth and its ecosystem are trying to find balance. I want to offer my time and work to learn regenerative skills in farming and ways to live a more sustainable lifestyle in the hopes that I can use these lessons to help shift our society towards a more harmonious relationship with Gaia.

Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope our paths cross soon!

    Montana's Bio:

Hi, my name is Montana and I'm very excited about learning new skills and helping out.

I grew up in the South Eastern United States (Mississippi) and Arizona and I have traveled around a lot of the U.S. I have worked on a few farms and I would love to expand my knowledge on permaculture practices. I hope to incorporate the information and skills I learn around the globe into an efficient and sustainable homestead of my own one day!

I am currently learning to make jewelry and cut gems, and I also love being outdoors, going on hikes, camping, swimming, etc. I really enjoy plants and animals as I feel very connected and comfortable with them. I'm also passionate about food and the preparation of our meals: I especially love making pizza!

Thank you for taking the time to read and have a great day!
