Description
We are Ruben(Germany) and Janae (USA). We met on an organic permaculture farm in the south of Spain. We are very excited to travel and learn more about the world by making genuine connections with our hosts and fellow volunteers. Both of us grew up in rural areas. We enjoy simple, remote places.
We have experience in construction, digging, earth works, gardening, and food preparation and collection. We are hard workers with good attitudes and creative minds, there's not much that we can't figure out. We are both creators, carving, embroidering, sewing, writing and drawing in our free time. Also finding the time to do nothing and just be. Our urge to explore and discover is strong. Therefore we love to go for walks or hikes. We are kind and perceptive, self-aware and respectful. We practice Non-violent communication and strive to empathize and understand different viewpoints at all times.

We both have experience in construction, with modern techniques as well as the basic principles of log based building. We know how to dig holes and move soil, we are not afraid to get our hands dirty. We can plant, weed, and maintain gardens. We love to forage and prepare food.
We are both quick learners and creative problem solvers and enjoy tasks that challenge us to find new, innovative ways to create functioning structures.
We are very interested in Compost-in-place techniques and highly inspired by the natural farming techniques of Masanobu Fukuoka.

We stayed an amazing 6 weeks at Ytai and Louisa’s place and we feel so fortunate and blessed by our time there. The company was amazing, 2 sweet doggies and friendly, funny goats, Ytai and Louisa are interesting, kind, funny, and easy to get along with, we always enjoyed our meals and time in the kitchen together.

Best helpers we've ever had. Such beautiful people, we never had to say what should be done other than some ideas here and there or for how long to work, they did so much more than we ever expected. Janae and Ruben were a pleasure to have over here!! Very proactive, helped in all the ways they could with all tasks, from the farm to the house and animal care. Both are very skilled and above all great persons!
We had a great time together working, talking and living for this seven weeks.
