KARISMA (NAWWAL ) :

~10 years traveling & volunteering across cultures · Speaks English, Spanish, Hindi & Urdu

ABOUT ME:

I was born in Northern Pakistan, and my family immigrated to the USA when I was 7. Growing up, I always felt a pull toward the wider world — my family tried to keep us kids a little sheltered, being immigrants themselves, but that never really worked on me! I left home at 18 and have been traveling, working, and volunteering across countries and communities ever since (I still love my family dearly and visit often). I haven't been active on Workaway in a couple of years, and I'm excited to re-enter the community!
I've lived a year in Nepal, a year in Colombia, volunteered in hostels, and been part of communities in different corners of the world — not just passing through, but really living somewhere for a while. One of my favorite places is Lago de Atitlán in Guatemala, where I was part of a permaculture community. I've also taken seasonal jobs here in the United States along the way, to fund the travels in between.
I want to leave a positive imprint on this ever-evolving world — with love, gratitude, and a helping hand. I put my whole heart into whatever I'm doing, and I carry a little piece of every place I go with me. Right now I'm in Colorado, traveling, and open and flexible for what's next this fall.

WHAT I CAN HELP WITH:

I have a lot of experience in hospitality, but I don't want to be boxed into that. I'm entering my 30s and craving evolution — new crafts, new skills, new ways of contributing. My interests lean toward yoga and conscious living, and I'd love to learn more about gardens, building/construction, or art and craft. Genuinely open to wherever a hand is needed.

A connective, conscious place to land for a while — somewhere I can grow, learn something new, and get to know a community rather than just pass through.

I speak English and (Urdu/Hindi) fluently. I also speak a bit of Spanish which I learned in my travels in Colombia.
I recently just became a yoga teacher and I am very excited to practice teaching and getting better at my own personal practice of yoga as well :)!.

Also:
I have a very artistic mind and personality. One time I covered all my room walls as a collage with different magazines photos - and many people would come just to check it out. I also like to write poetry and paint on canvases.
I am also very interested in inner growth- I like to meditate and learn about the healing arts.
On my past time I love going on long hikes and trying out exotic foods!
