Hi everyone :)
We are a retired Swiss couple (67 and 62 years old) living in a small village in the countryside of France. We moved here two years ago to experience something new during our pension.
Isabelle has worked as a teacher for children with special needs back in Switzerland. She loves her garden, singing and being creative or going on walks. And Manfred used to be a teacher and social worker as well, but he also organized concerts and installed a recording studio here in France, so bands can visit them and record their albums here. The both of us enjoy going on concerts, flee markets, the cinema, hiking or simply finding new restaurants in the region.
As there are a lot of lovely elderly people living in the region, we miss the inspiration we used to get from younger people and our children back in Switzerland. That’s why we would like to welcome workawayers.
Our house is surrounded by plenty of fields and we have a lot of space for you to seclude yourself, in case you want some time just for yourself. There are some cozy hammocks and our garden has fruit trees. We also have a pool that is free for your use.
There is a bigger town in around 6 km distance, with a market, bakery and bigger grocery stores. We have two e-bikes that can be used incase you want to explore the region. Otherwise you need a car, as the distances are too far to walk and there is no public transport. The next bigger trainstation is in Montauban, a 40 mins drive. There is a daily bus to the cities Montauban and Auch.
We have a cat and a dog . We are not vegetarian, but if you are it’s no problem for us.
We are spontaneous and uncomplicated, mostly we are excited to be surrounded by young inpiring people again!

We can help you improve your german and french. If you are interested we can also share swiss german and the 26 different dialects. Isabelle can teach you knitting and sewing and she has recently picked up drawing lessons. Manfred can teach you how to record and make music. He has plenty of instruments and equipment that you can use incase you are a musician as well.
You can also take up space for yourself and for your own projects
We both know the region amd people here well.. We will take you to flee and vegetable markets. There are a lot of different birds and animals in general that you can see during the evenings around here.
Help
We don’t have one specific project, we need help on. But we would appreciate if you helped us for example in the garden, cutting the lawn, helping in construction, woodwork, cooking and doing laundry. It will probably be less than 5 hours a day. We would appreciate cultural exchange and just general support.
We are also trying to improve our spanish, english and french.

Accommodation
You will have your own room. There is a possibility that we will have other guests, as we also rent some of the rooms for short periods. (musicians, friends, friends of friends). The house in general is very spacious with a big living room, recording studio, pool, kitchen and a big screen to watch movies. We have Wifi.
Alcohol, Tobacco and Sweets are not included. The same applies to hygiene articles.
What else ...
Having your own car is very handy in this region. Our house is located in a small town with 150 people without a store (but we go shopping almost every second day in the next bigger town and can also drop you off at places). In the region a lot of little villages that are nice to visit. It is not a really touristic place and it’s perfect if you try to find tranquility. In 3 hours you are at the atlantic ocean and in 2 hours you are at the mediterranian sea or in the pyrenées. There is the possibility to make multiple days trips from here if you wish to go away for a couple of days.
