Description

I am a free-spirited adventurous soul age. I enjoy being active and outdoors, bicycling, hiking, yoga, surfing, scuba and travel are all things that make my heart happy. Learning new cultures, customs, being exposed to new ways of thinking, these are things that I love. I am from the United States and have lived in 7 states. I have travelled to 50 countries. I am learning Spanish, I have been taking lessons for about a year and a half. I am a non-smoker and tend to eat more pescatarian or vegetarian meals. If age matters, I am 50 but in great shape, health, and very active.

What brings me here? I am at a point in life in which I want to take an adult gap year as a way to connect differently. I want to give back to communities and make impact on the lives around us in a meaningful way. I am always inspired to travel, this type of process of trading work for accommodations helps both parties and provides me the opportunity to feel connected to the local culture which has always been something I am interested in and want to learn more of.

Fitness is a big part of my life. I spent 8 years as a certified personal Trainer.
Business - I have spent 15 years leading sales teams, 3 years in marketing.
Social Media - I am continuing to build my skillset and would like to implement more.
Hospitality/Tourism - I spent 4 years managing a bar on a beach, working front of house as well as operations.
I am excellent with children.
I am certified to teach English as a 2nd language TEFL course.

Teaching English - TEFL certified to teach English as a second language. I have not put this to use yet and would love to gain experience.
Hosting/greeting/front of house for a guesthouse or B&B - I am warm and hospitable, kind and courteous, am good with small and large groups of people. Can easily connect
Cooking - I do not use recipes, but pair herbs well to bring out the flavor. Also have mixology experience.

Have worked in the pet space, mostly dog & cat, for the last 5 years. I love animals and would be open to learning about tending to other animals, farm & livestock.

I have 7 years experience in the physical fitness space, so always happy to share and teach general physical teachings, body weight, physical weights, stretching, floor workouts.

I do have the capability of doing general building and assembly projects. I worked on building a home with Habitat for Humanity, and for St. Jude's.

I am just now getting into the social media space, but would love to gain experience and or learn from someone. If you are going to monetize your business I may be able to assist with sales skills as I have been leading sales teams for the last 15 years, and had a few years in marketing.

I have a lot of life experience, and would love to continue that journey here in this chapter. Being active is a big part of my life, as is living a healthy lifestyle. Traveling safely is important to me, therefore understanding transparency on the location and surroundings will be important for me to understand.
I do enjoy being around kids, they bring a wonderful energy of life forward.
During my time off I will want to explore the local area and would love your insight.
