  • Description

    Description

I am 79, male, living on my own, on my Unique Solar Motor Trimaran. It’s in the sunshine, moored in a sheltered lagoon within a nature reserve, in the bay of Alvor, a charming Algarvean fishing village.

My motor trimaran does not have sails. It.is permanently moored in the Alvor lagoon. It does not move.

I am living my dream, which is not dependent on smoking, alcohol or drugs . I do not wish to share my dream with guests whose happiness depends on smoking, alcohol or drugs .

    My Background
I have been privileged to have had a career at the top of technology.
When I retired from working at CERN, where I worked with Nobel Prizewinners, and where my two colleagues invented the WWW, and also worked for many UN agencies in Geneva, I bought a trimaran in England and sailed her South to the Algarve, where I discovered my paradise.

    Trimaran Background
The trimaran hosted British Royalty when she had Wingsails.
Now she has twin Diesel engines and Solar Panels.

    Help

Workawayers need to be fit and agile to get in and out of the dinghy, and to clamber on board.

My boat has been neglected, and is very disorganised.
My goal is to make her a place where people feel happy and relaxed.

In her earlier days she hosted royalty.

The main tasks are cleaning, painting, organizing, and getting the boat functional and comfortable.

I would expect Workawayers to put in 5 days a week of 5 hours, with 2 days a week off.

    Can you help me with:
    -> Organizing storage.
-> Painting and fitting out the interior.
-> Cleaning and painting the deck.
    -> Cleaning the 3 hulls.
-> Organizing and doing small DIY projects on your own.
-> Creating a mural telling the story of the trimaran.
-> I would expect you to take part in cooking and help with the daily chores.

We would be doing all tasks together.
    I'm flexible with priorities.
I would like you Workawayers to feel happy and productive during your stay.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Accommodation is in a Double Cabin with a double bed and shared toilet.

I eat a predominantly locally grown plant-based diet. I buy all my organic produce at the Sunday Farmer’s Market nearby. We can shop there together, or go to the local supermarkets. I also eat nuts and fish caught locally.

The galley is solar powered. Equipped with Fridge / Freezer, Reverse Osmosis filtered water, Electric Kettle, Coffee Machine, Oven, Microwave, an Induction Hob, a washing machine and an Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Diving and swimming from the trimaran. Sunbathing. Picnics and Dancing on deck

Picnic trips with me in the dinghy to explore the rivers and the nature reserve, where there are flamingos in season.

The trimaran is moored near one of the finest beaches in the Algarve, and there is a sandbank nearby.

A visiting Teacher organises occasional Qi-gong, Meditation, Hypnotherapy, and Quantum Healing Workshops on the trimaran.

The trimaran is on a mooring. You need to come and go ashore in the dinghy. This will be by me ferrying you back and forth in the dinghy.

Internet access is limited, and is via my mobile phone hotspot, and only when I am on board,
There are many cafes and restaurants nearby with Internet access.

I love to dance, and there are many places which have live music nearby.

Unfortunately, the local nightlife starts at 10 pm and ends at 1 am. I would not appreciate you disturbing my sleep by asking me to ferry you back to the boat on multiple late nights during the working week.

The trimaran is surrounded by nature on all sides, so once you get ashore, there are many delightful nature walks and trails.

Public transport is available for you to venture further, to Lagos, Portimao, Monchique, Albufeira, Tavira, and Lisbon, and to the airports of Portimao (near Alvor), Faro, and Lisbon. Local buses stop around 8 p.m.

I am curious about everything, and I would love to learn from you anything you enjoy doing.

I hope I have tempted you into finding out more about the fun time you would have on my trimaran.
