Description
Dear reader of my text
Welcome to my profile!
I hope you're doing fine!
I am Luisa, 29 years old, and I grew up where Switzerland, Germany and France meet. I hold a master's degree in Human Rights from a university in Northern Italy and have lived in several countries across Europe, West Asia and Africa, where I have been involved in diverse projects in the fields of forced migration, environmental protection and social work — and at their intersection, which is what makes me feel most passionate and where I see myself working in the future. I have a strong interest in permaculture, agroecology and organic gardening in general, and would love to focus on acquiring knowledge and practical skills in that field.
Beyond that, I have done a lot of different jobs over the last few years to finance my mostly pro bono project involvement — mostly working in the catering sector in service, selling fries and preparing sandwiches, but also as a city gardener, a city cleaner, and selling soap at a cute Bavarian Christmas market during my bachelor's.
Thanks to all this work experience and Workaway, I am familiar with gardening, house and garden maintenance, cooking, renovating, painting, cleaning, working with youths, journalism as well as NGO work (e.g. project proposal writing), among others.
Having changed place many times, I know how to adapt to new places and situations. I love cultural exchange and am able to speak English, French and Italian and some Spanish (although especially if you are a native speaker, you will recognize my maaaany many mistakes and the latter is rather an Italian-Spanish mixture ;-)).
I am very curious and open-minded about life, love to listen other people's stories and giving a helping hand wherever needed. I spend a lot of time in nature - having long walks/hikes, biking, swimming- ,I like to write, read and meditate a lot, draw and sketch, cook, am learning to play the electric guitar, do analogue photography and enjoy spending time with other people over good food, laughter and good conversations.
Unfortunately, I don't have any special magic skills, but the willingness to do everything in my power. :)
I guess this space here is to describe yourself as best you can, but I would prefer to meet you in real life (or for the moment via video call) and tell you about me personally. And especially get to know you.
Hope to see you soon!

More details about your skills
I am open-minded for different tasks and I am a fast learner. Being a curious person, I would love to do some complete new work.
This year I did an internship at an environmental organisation in Italy which has been a very pleasant experience for me.
After finishing school, I did different jobs and internships. For example, I worked as a writer for our local newspaper and had therefore the chance to visit different events, communicate and interview people there and create articles about these experiences. I also volunteered in a sheltered workshop and in a refugee`s camp. I did an internship in the Bundestag, the German parliament in Berlin, worked in different schools and had so far different jobs to earn money: as a waitress, a worker in an ecological food store, and during summer I used to work as a city gardener in Basel, my home town.
Through my different work experiences, I learned how to adapt to new situations and how to become part of a team with complete new people. And I always like the beginning of a new experience because each job and each team is different and I always feel how much I can learn from different people. In return, I try to give my best to work persistent and try to include the skills I have. I am a very interested and also creative person that loves to be a lot outside in nature and work there. -

Feedback
My feedback is a few weeks late, but part of my heart is still in Kampala.
I spent 1.5 months in Kampala, but due to the intensity of the experience and the depth of the emotions, it feels like it was way longer. This experience is life-changing, so be prepared for that. I was and still am deeply impressed by what … read more
I had lovely almost 4 weeks - nature is stunning and I often wish to still be surrounded by the beautiful mountains or swim in the turquoise water.
During my time, two retreats were held. Work was pretty much but varied from cooking to cleaning ,painting things or fixing sth, and working hours varied.
I think communication could be … read more
Luisa went above and beyond and provided support when she saw the need. She completed tasks independently to our complete satisfaction.
Reliable, cooperative, laid-back, quick-learner, funny, helpful, generous.
I spent a beautiful month this summer with Neuza and her family!
Work is not very easy but the exchange fair and just. I mostly worked in the garden, above all weeding which was physically demanding but also grounding and relaxing at the same time. When the weather was bad (which can happen more than expected in … read more
