Hi, we're Katie and Jordan - we've been together for six years and we're currently on a working holiday in Canada (August 2025-August 2027)!

We've been switching between Workaway placements and additional placements with friends of our hosts (so we have limited official reviews but our hosts have always recommended us if they have friends who need work done!).

We have been travelling across Canada for nine months now and have been loving the experience so far! We have been enjoying work including:
- Home renovation and woodwork
- Crafts (assistance at a stained glass workshop)
- Farm work and animal care (dogs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, goats, pigs, horses, calves)
- Gardening, produce planting, and harvesting
- Cooking, food preservation

In terms of living and working together in your home, we're respectful of other people's space and preferences (e.g., tidiness, quiet times). We love learning new things, and follow instructions and take guidance and feedback well. We have our own car, and are independent and self-reliant workers.

We're both easy-going and hardworking. I (Katie) have a background in postdoctoral research and was working as a data analyst before we left for Canada. Jordan was a tech consultant. We both enjoy being outside, hiking, kayaking, and camping.

We've lived together for years and have travelled a lot together. We work and communicate really well together and are a good team.

We're both happy to help out with a wide variety of tasks, and both have extensive experience with assisting with computer-related work. However, we're particularly interested in outdoor work and creative tasks, as well as cultural exchange.

I (Katie) love cooking and am very happy to help with this or plan and prepare meals. We're both creative, resourceful, and handy with household tasks/maintenance. If we don't know how to do something, we'll try and work out how (safely!). Jordan is also particularly good with tech stuff and is very happy to assist there.

We both love animals and have lots of experience living with, caring for, and cleaning up after pets (not squeamish!).

Prior to becoming a data analyst, I was a researcher and did a lot of interview and focus group work with young people and Jordan has previously volunteered at a youth club. I would also be happy to look into any research, evaluation, or social history projects.

We're also both learning French and would love opportunities to practice, but I'm very interested in languages generally.

- General maintenance and DIY (familiar with things like painting, basic woodwork, cleaning, and gardening, but also have some less recent experience of welding and soldering, and we're happy to get stuck in and learn!)
- Cooking (I love cooking and am happy to cook for groups and with limited resources etc.)
- Art/craft (drawing, painting, fibre arts, etc.)

Specialist (Katie):

Specialist (Jordan):
- Tech and software (experience in building and setting up computers as well as troubleshooting issues)
- My dad's a mechanic and I have experience in assisting with basic tasks
