Hey! I'm Kat! I grew up in New York City and now live in Denver, Colorado. I've been a science teacher for the last three years and I'm taking a break to travel and focus on learning Spanish. I've never done workaway before but I've couch surfed in Puerto Rico, worked on farms in Costa Rica and Ireland and shoveled more rocks than most New Yorkers will ever see. I'm looking to work in hostels, farms and small sustainable spaces while I travel. I love cooking, baking, teaching, salsa/bachata and rock climbing!

I just finished a season at an apple orchard on field and kitchen crew, where I picked apples, maintained grounds, made donuts, cider and other kitchen goods and did farmers market sales. Previously I worked at a dairy farm making ice cream and taking care of beautiful jersey cows, and a mixed livestock/ veggie farm doing a little bit of everything. I'm comfortable with landscaping equipment, all kinds of field work, cooking and baking, childcare and basic carpentry (it won't look pretty but it'll probably hold together).
