Description
I am a fit and active sixty year old Australian nurse. With a restlessness that precedes change and a new EU passport I took that as a sign to challenge myself. I have a base in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France but would like to explore other European countries also. I am interested in experiencing new cultures, languages, food, people and natural landscapes. Travelling and being in nature brings me happiness as does cooking ingredients from my own garden. I have lived in an Alpine environment for the last seventeen years but have also lived in other rural environments within Australia. I have an adventurous spirt and helping other people brings me pleasure.
I have completed several Workaway placements including cooking in France, painting in Switzerland, gardening in Sweden and child minding in Estonia. -

I have a Bachelor of Nursing, a Master in Health Science Education and a post graduate qualification in rural and remote nursing. I have gained many skills over several decades of nursing. These include intuition, time management, communication, team work and problem solving.
Having lived in rural areas I can chop and stack my own firewood, grow fruit and vegetables and enjoy cooking and preserving them. I get pleasure working in the garden whether it is weeding, mowing, planting or pruning. I also have some experience around horses. Inside the house my happy place is in the kitchen cooking and I clean up after myself.
I also have some basic DIY skills.
I have renovated several houses and consider myself a meticulous painter.
I am willing to learn new skills, culture and languages and do the same in return.
I keep fit and active with hiking, skiing and will try most outdoor activities. -

I enjoy playing board games and interacting with people. Currently my favourite games are Qwirkles and Bananagrams. I enjoy meditation, hiking, being in nature, horse-riding, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, cooking, organising social activities and travel.
